Well should have known better...
Put my car into JCT600 Bradford bodyshop because I still wanted to keep my SEAT body corrosion warranty...
Would have gone elsewhere as it was only a minor dent in the drivers door..I estimated myself at the time that it would be around 350 quid to fix.
Took it for an estimate which had to be booked a month in advance..When I arrived at the appointed booked in time the estimator was in a meeting and someone else did the estimate..
Guy said it had spoiled the crease line of the door and it would have to be reskinned.
Thought fair enough would probably prefer that to filler anyway.
Estimate arrived £618 plus vat..WHAAA
Just for a dent..!!
Thought Oh well...seems at least £200 quid too much but what do I do ?..I need to keep my bodywork warranty...
Booked the car in..they said they needed it from Wednesday to Friday...so I dropped it off on Tuesday night so they could work on it straight away on wednesday.
Recieved a call Friday saying it wouldn't be ready and they would call me on Monday to tell me when it was ready.
Rang four times on Monday to be told the person I needed to speak to was out and they'd get them to ring me back...No one rang back.
All tuesday not a word until 3.30pm when I had a call to say the car was ready.
Er its a bit short notice says I ..Been ringing you all day yesterday for nothing so I've made arrangements for this afternoon..will bring your courtesy car back tommorow before dinner says I...and pick up my car.
Fine they said ..no problem.
Next day Wednesday..they've had the car a week now for a job they said would be three days..I got a call..sorry your car isn't ready after all we've got the wrong door sticker...We've ordered a new one and it will be here for friday..

Right OK just get on with the thing..
Friday arrives looking forward to getting my car back after ten days which should have been a three day job.
Phone call..er cars not ready..they sent the sticker but we can't use it its been stapled through in the envelope..
Apart from thinking "yeah right" I also needed the car that day as I had a Birthday trip to a theme park to take my boys to and a long journey squashed in a full Corsa..didn't appeal.
Right I'll pick up the car as I need it but I won't pay till its finished.
We can't do that sir..It has to be paid fully before collection.
But you haven't finished the job...

Ok sir we should have it on Saturday..
Well Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu and Fri have all gone by now..no phone call..no sticker and no workman to fit it have materialised..

Not only is the job not finished but when I paid the bill I discovered why the bill was so high...they had replaced the whole door chassis complete and not reskinned the original door..
Why?.. the door chassis was fine..I'd been driving the car for three months before I finally booked it in and the door worked fine with no wind noise..water leaks or dropped hinges....
If they'd reskinned it would have knocked at least £150 of the bill as the complete door chassis was £220 plus vat.
