hi guys,
in june last year i was driving up to yarmouth when the diagnosis light came on and the car lost power. i safely pulled over turned off the engine and waited 10 minutes.
upon turning the car back on it started first time, no warning light and full power.
since then i have had no problems with the car, if anything it is running really well.
however today upon driving for 5 minutes the diagnosis light has again come on, although no loss of power. this time it is staying on.

is it something serious, im skint having just paid out nearly £500 for both front window regulators to be fixed.
the car itself is running fine but i am very worried now.

any help would be appreciated.

could be something simple like and coolant temp sensor open/short circuit and causing the car to go in to limp home mode. by switching it off and back on again reset the ecu but has kept the light on as there is a fault in the memory. just pop in to a dealer and get them to plug in to the diag machine. then put the light out and try again.

Hi mate

If youre keeping your car which i assume you are as youre a member on here, id recommend doing what i did and buying a diagnostic reader, really useful if you have any issues.

I bought this one and it works great

Know this may be a little late, but in my old petrol Leon I had the engine management light come on twice; both times it was to do with pollution and the fuel system being clogged up. Not expensive to clean but watch that a garage doesn't try to con you by saying you need new parts when in fact it needs cleaning out.
