Mornin All,

Just wondering who does the best like for like policies, any ideas???

Not that i have anything major but my insurers,Diamond, only replace with standard parts....only charging me an extra £21 for the coilies and angels as thought i'd better mention them:whistle: but burns me that they'll charge you extra and then not replace them to the same spec if necessary.....

current quote is £355 full comp....greenlight £372(unsure if this is like for like at the mo)....anyone else i should try?

Cheers
Claire

I'm with greenlight and I'm fairly sure my policy is not like for like. It may depend on who they insure you with though as Greenlight are only a broker I believe.

Have just read my email from them:redface: rather than just looking at cost and says mod friendly like for like so prob worth the extra £21!!!! Tis via highway.....terms as below...

Comprehensive cover with a £150 Accidental Damage, Fire and Theft excess

The Endorsements that apply are listed below:
-24 hour claims assistance service, including a courtesy car provision
-£100,000 legal expenses/solicitors' fee cover (solicitor must be pre-approved)
1. Modification friendly insurer (like for like cover on modified parts)
2. Optional Track day cover (per event basis, please contact us for full details)
3. Guaranteed 14 day hire car in event of Theft/Total loss (write off)
4. Courtesy Car provided by Approved repairer for duration of repairs
5. £500 Stereo cover
6. Unlimited windscreen cover (£60 excess) - approved repairer must be used
7. Free foreign travel (green cards) for up to 90 days per annum
8. Boomerang Tag Key loss protection (£1500 towards replacement locks)

You can see a copy of the Highway Insurance Policy and the Key Facts on our website in the FAQ section..

Not got my current renewal docs on me but think i have a lower excess at the mo and higher stereo cover, not that i need it for my alpine hu!!

Have you tried Adrian Flux? I had my old 306 insured like for like and with an agreed valuation, and they have a policy to beat any other quote you have (must have proof though).

Saying that, the car club I was with had a club discount with them, but might still be worth a try.

Best to phone them as the quotes from their website are never very good!!

did think that Nicky as my dad used to have his kit and vintage cars through AF but i think they hiked his prices so he changed despite their beat it policy! Just trying to find the number now....rang greenlight for a quote but seems you have to do it online only hence the above figure.....still not bad but may as well try n keep it low as poss:)
