So many threads on Sub boxs but all Beeza oriented:confused:

OK. My problem: I was looking for a custom box my my toledo.
I know the rear has "mucho espaco" but a custom box would look much better;) . I came across 2 boxes one from MTX & one from JL audio, both for toledo's brother (jetta/bora). The million $ question is does anyone know if the rear end is the same on both cars? Minor mods are no problem but if the boot is completely different, I'll have to look elsewhere:confused:
urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggg.

As far as I know they are too different. Since you're not local I can't do one for you but.... If you have a staockist that has one of the boxes in why not ask them to try it in your boot? It might not fit perfectly but you never know it might be OK. The big problem is if it doesn't fit I wouldn't try to modify it. It would be easier to make your own. Hopefully I'll have time this lunch to type in my Fibre glass tutorial again.

The MTX box, I always doughted (the fit that is), but I'm not that sure about the JL audio one? The JL fits in the spare tire (tyre for you guys:D:), just kidding) well. From the picture at the link below they look the same.

What do you think Pete?

I tried e-mailing them but the response was something like
Q: Will it fit a SEAT Toledo
A: SEAT???? Toledo???? Not sure, where are you located, maybe we have an importer near by who can help.?
Location: Lisbon
Response: Ah yes, hows the weather in Spain??

If it fits in the spare well then it might fit. The only way to find out is to find an importer and try it though. The problem with that one is that it raises the spare tyre and then you get a set of moulded supports to raise the rest of the floor to match. These probably wouldn't fit at all..

Along with the custom sub and the MTX 4250D, I am looking to upgrade with the MTX 4244 4 channel amp + speaker change. I've got a pair of Infinity perfect 6.1 6-1/2" components (off my beeza). Will probably by another set as soon as I get the $$$.

Starting adding up the tally to eveything

Alot of dough. Is it worth it? Of course, I spend at least 3 hrs a day in the car. Just started wondering wheather or not it would be better to change the headunit too? Is the difference noticeable between stock (via speaker level outputs) or new headunit via low level? There's also the problem with the look of the system. I really like the way the stock Aura + changer look & fit in the car. Can't find anything suitable (black with red backlighting) like some of the older Rockfords.

My old clarion head unit had selectable red or green backlighting,

And if the beezers stereo is like the leons then a head unit change will make a huge difference!!, if you get a 4x50wrms output on it you wont need an additional amp to drive the door speakers either!

My old Clarion (actually not that old abould 3yrs taken out of my Beeza) is a non powered (only 3 sets Low level RCA) lowering faceplate wonder of a radio. Problems!? The radio output is LCD white on Blue background?:(
OK maybe you can't always have what you want, but I rather not change the center console look that much.
