Just wondering after looking at one of the MX5 parts websites, what are a good brand of brake pads for day to day running. Not much country lane tanking it stuff (well unless I'm driving;) ) but something a bit better than she has at the moment.

I've heard Greenstuff pads are pretty good

I know its not SEAT, but any recommendations

Thanks

(i await the predictable haridresser post from that Ibiza 1.4 owner...;) )

I've got Greenstuff on my Ibiza. I think they suit a light car well but they won't get you to your next service (well, mine don't; they expire after a year - that's 10k miles). I don't consider myself a hard user of the brakes but my dad does (but he's over 50 and drives like a proper grandad).

ah, thats a bugger then. She does about 20k a year at the mo.
Thanks Ed

I can vouch for cr@p life expectancy from GreenStuff too - I had a set of them on my 8v for a shade under 10k and they were proper f*cked. It's not like i'm a heavy user - i've had 20k+ miles out of my current pads... Currently running Pagid Fast Road pads which stop better, last longer and produce a little more dust than GreenStuffs. Other brands worth considering that may well stop it a bit better than OE kit include Mintex and Ferodo, though I have no recent personal experience of either.

Pagid FR's lasted longer & braked better than the Ferodo ones I've run

Never run Greensh/te just because anything that prides itself as 'clean' can't be that good at braking.
