Its with great regret that I have some negative comments about a dealership that has done me proud in the past! my parents are looking at a new car, a toss up between a new mini (not the first choice) or an ibiza cupra, which I was gunning for them to get.
They visited Irvines BMW garage in bridgwater to get a trade in price and test drive the new mini, when checking on the value of their cordoba the BMW salesman phoned Richardsons to get an idea of price - only to spend the next 5 mins on the phone with a SEAT salesman ridiculing their cordoba 2.0 16v, bengal yellow is a terrible colour apparently (!) and older (its a T plate!!!) seats aren't much cop anyway. Nice, estimated value - £2,800 for a mint car with FSH and 35,000 miles.
My parents then visited Richardsons, who I had been plugging and singing their merits, fair enough the salesmen were friendly - if ignoring my mum to sale the car to my dad who can't even drive, wasn't enough to put her off. After a quick drive in a well ragged locally demo cupra selling at nearly 12k! she was told her car was only worth £2,500 hmmm.
The salesman didn't even want to try and sell her a new arosa sport which she was also quite interested in, but wanted to shift the ibiza.
Result? one person who wouldn't touch a SEAT again, as resale value is ridiculous, as is the car to the people selling it. Very disapointing :(
