I can confirm jones of chelmsford closed yesterday - i turned up at 9 to look at a cupra, found the staff in in a huddle crying!
As the cupra ownership all depends on dealers quality, anyone know anything about parkstone(leigh on sea) or Miller & Middleton (colchester).
Dont know if i can face running a car without a dealer in local area, i did with the mx-5, but mazdas never go wrong.

Can't say I've ever used Parkstone but they have been a SEAT dealer for quite a while now and having lived in Leigh on Sea they're a very well established local car firm.
I'd be surprised if you had any problems with them. I'm tempted to take my TDI to a VW garage 'cos at least they'll know about PD engines (or should do). Not sure I fancy it being looked after by a bunch of Citroen technicians.

They are keeping the seat techs and will get the seat approval in next few days.
I am picking up my second hand cupra on saturday, nice deal as selling them off cheap. Spoke to owner, he has big plans.

Im in the same boat. I did an oil and filter change at the weekend and had to drive all the way down to parkstones to get it. I am certainly thinking about taking my car to the VW dealer in chelmsford for the 20K service. Im not sure where I would stand with regard to the warrenty though.
In hindsight I guess I could have got the oil filter from VW now that I know the part number.
My Cupra is in today for a service with Miller & Middleton, so will let you know how I get on!!

for the warranty to be valid, you need the seat stamp in the service book. I would have thought that VW would be much more expensive.

Seemed to go very well, it was a 50k service, so was only the oil & filter and a check over...
Seemed very well priced tho...£80
I got used to paying through the nose at Audi Dealers with the TT
The only thing I enquired about and they couldn't help me with was deactivating the passenger airbag, as we are expecting out first baby at the end of June, and it would have been good to be able to use a baby seat in the front....:

all you need is a resistor pluged in to the air bag then a basic
adaption re-code of the air bag control unit.
Make sure you get a cirtificate wit an official SEAT stamp on it
and you must have the warning sticker stuck to the air bag

You could get the oil filter for a 20V turbo engine from a Skoda dealer as it's in the Octavia VRS. The one in Writtle doesn't sell Skodas anymore but they told me that they still do warranty and mechanical work so they should be able to supply the parts.

I've seen a Blue Cupra around, mostly in St Mary's car park?
I think it had a private plate tho'. Obviously not yours then.

Just a thought but have you checked Miller & Middleton are OK with mods? (If you plan to carry on using them that is).;)
I work in Colchester - Hythe to be more precise. I'll keep an eye out for you guys when I'm driving to/from work. Just look out for a black MY03 Leon Cupra with a private plate and that'll be me :D
