Mark McKenna, Head of SEAT UK Marketing, amazed everyone, including himself, by winning an impromptu pool tournament. Mark beat non-other than Jason Plato in a final which lacked all traces of skill.
Ben Winrow will race at Croft this weekend with a sore thumb. The 17-year old driver trapped his digit in his company Ibiza car door as he left home en route to Croft. The pain was so bad that poor Ben had to go to hospital to have a small hole drilled in his thumb nail to relieve the pressure, before testing his Leon Cupra R.
The amazing Championship hospitality and technical area has certainly caused a stir at Croft. Jules Phillips, who is giving Robert Huff technical advice, commented: "I've been involved in motorsport for 22 years and I've never seen a set-up like this anywhere in the world. It's awe-inspiring."
As a strange co-incidence, Jules's father, Dave Phillips, used to be the main suspension engineer on Gwyndaf Evans's SEAT Ibiza Evo Kit Car, when SEAT UK did the British Rally Championship!
The test session at Croft was the first time all Cupra Rs appeared in their racing liveries - and a fantastic kaleidoscope of colours they are. Winning the award for the most outrageous is Andre D'Cruze's car - complete with Hot Wheels flames!
The SEAT drivers tried to strike today - when they all went 10-pin bowling. Results from the superbowl will be aired on ITV1 in the summer.
