Zboyd has just emailed me the first pictures live from Croft. Our display area was on one of the maintainance roads which almost all attendees had to walk past :D

I thought this was track racing and not rallying ;)

Look at the colour of Spence's car in that last pic  now there's cutting corners and there off roading, did he take a detour ?

Absolutely first rate day at Croft, just got back after a nice chilled drive home.

The action, thrills and spills made for some of the best motorsport ive seen in ages.

Spencer was great in Race 1, and Race 2 he was right in the thick of the action, but sadly, got nerf'd a bit, ended up with damage and dropped back in the field.

SEAT have generated a super championship, and the facilities and technical area where you can get up close and see the cars being worked on is a superb touch, im sure everyone that attended today had a great day out.

Got a load of pics, and video too, i'll start on it tonight and get some of it up tonight if i can.

Thanks for the great turn out today by members, we certainly caught peoples attention.

:)

As Andy B pointed out the other day, Spencer has sponsorship from Shell Helix. Trouble is, it was a very last minute deal, and wasn't enough time to get the car proper liveried.

Hence cock eyed stickers blah blah. His car is being all changed and will be primarily yellow for the next event at Silverstone, and all permiting, we will have black stickers on his car then, which are a bit more visible.

But if today was anything to go by, we need to sort him a good supply out, if not for him for everyone else that got nerfed, pranged you name it :)

Was superb though, some really close and exciting action, thills and spills as they say. :D

Pics will be up tomorrow at some stage, im just too tired now to sort thru 100s of pics.

Blame it on Kev Mark...Sped off it was ..had the Revo Demo put in and I was looking forward to trying it out all day..sorry I didn't say goodbye to everyone...(Thanks again for the Mirror Mark P)
Just gave the Revo a full work out tonight...its really very good considering its the 3 bar stock engine one with only '210'ish bhp.
Torque curve is much meatier in the middle and although I haven't seen a power plot it does seem to prefer short shifting at around 5750-6000 rpm than holding to the redline..when you shortshift you just feel that torque pushing you on again..bonnet lifts in fifth gear...very nice..Ok so its good on the motorway..tried it on the Yorkshire dales twisties tonight near Harrogate...
Brilliant..the torque is so good and consistent that even when the chassis struggles its easy to balance the car nicely by just using the power to keep things steady..excellent...even the brakes didnt fade as I thought they would because I didnt have to slow as much for the corners anyway...lots of power to pull the front end out of trouble when needed.:)
Its a must have buy I'm afraid...Just need to ensure I can have it on my company car insurance..
Caught up a guy on the back roads in a BMW 323i....ok its no rocket ship and even my std cupra would keep up with it and overtake it given a long enough straight..he was obviously pushing though as he went up to 100..poor misguided soul..
Slotted into fifth and the extra torque just swept me past so easily.
I let him catch me up again later...and blasted him away again..
Had to stop at a set of temporary lights that were on stop for ages and he caught up..He flashed me and I got out to tell him I was just trying out some new software...he was extremely impressed..he had a big cheesy on his face and he shook my hand..said he'd tried to keep up but it was just hopeless...shook my hands again a few more times...
Perhaps another SEAT convert.
I didn't even have any trouble with the roadholding..had to battle with major power understeer but it was all very nicely balanced and controlable...had to switch the ESP off though or It would have given me a fit..blinking in my eyes...prefer to power understeer than have my power taken away..as I say the power is so reliable and controllable...:)

Thanks for an excellent day! It was a really good show, we had an excellent time.

Good to meet soem fo you again, and to meet some of you in person for the first time.

Do you think Seat will be giving out free tickets for the next event?

Yet again everyone walked past my car saying stuff like "Look at his numberplate, it says Mr Seat!", including one fit Seat girly. Er, actually its meant to be Mr Sleat, which is my name!!! :D

Did anyone see those Hot Wheels girlies! :D :D I kept trying to film them with the camcorder but everytime I started pointing it towards them my other half gave me a smack! :( Dunno why!

Excellent day, thanks to all those who helped organised it.

Cheers

Had a great time & cruised back down this morning.

Nice to meet people, shame you didn't all get the FOC drinks vouchers I had - but managed to pass on 95% of them

Ben - tickets available 'pre ordered' from lee already.

Will be there in my lil Ibiza I hope, or maybe SEAT #3 for the house.

Had a great day out, a lot better than i expected in all honesty.

The Supercopas seem like they;ll be a good series to watch, lots of panel beating going on today no doubt.

Muchos thanks to Shaggy and no doubt his missus for sending out the tickets, and thanks to SEAT also.

See you at Silverstone

yes, bloody appalling sticker placement. I'll do it for them! Mind you i'm a bit slower than they are at applying stickers (I think we can see why now). While I applied one www.seatcupra.net sticker on Spencer's car at Rockingham, one mechanic had applied around four of the Pirelli stickers on a neighbouring car!

Sounds like it was great day, I will be at Silverstone. Busy weekend, Thruxton BTCC on Sunday, then Silverstone on Monday!

Just a quick note to pass on my thanks to all involved in the blissfully free day out at croft.

Cheers SEAT and cheers Lee & Co.

Had a fantastic day and it was good to meet up with all you who were there. Special thanks to Kev for his time... I'm still smiling for at least an hour or so!! I have been threatened with a divorce before Im married because of the afore mentioned 'time trial'... the good thing is that Nicola actually wants to attend other events in the calendar.. (So she was not totally bored stupid):D

Mr Sheerin was upto his usual form, following a quietish night out in Darlington on the saturday night. He went missing for a short while only to be found chatting to a 'huddle' of girlies..
I was on my best behaviour, and had to use considerable blinkers when walking anywhere near the 'Hot wheels' ladies on the sunday.

Excellent putting faces to the names, and look forward to meeting up with a few of you all again in the near future.

once again cheers:cheers:

I was on my bestest behaviour as I didnt want to spoil your chances of getting to the Leeds nights out....even then I was accosted by two young girls ..only about 20 right in front of Nicola..and she mentioned it the next day:(

There were a few girlies I would have spoken to if Nicola hadn't been there...::devil:

Still had a good time though:)
Shame I'll be missing Silverstone...will be doing Oulton Park though.

Dammn only 2 and a half hours left on my revo demo...:(

What a quality day out, I'll be attending as many of the events that I can make it to. Some very entertaining racing, and certainly a steep learning curve for some of the drivers out there!

How much do I want a supacopa esque R now?!

Hope you guys enjoyed or are still enjoying the trial's I did, looking forward to hearing from you! ;)

Be seeing you all at the next one.
