How do I remove the aerial?

i just bought a new silver ariel for my toledo 2006 model and when i try and remove the old one all it does is colapse down and continues to spin and will not undo is there a specail way or a knack of doing this please advise thanks :doh:

Ariel is fitted with an anti theft device. Had the same trouble with mine. Only way to remove is to carefully lever upwards under the ariel thread you can see. It will come out eventually but take care or you could damage either the ariel base or the roof.

If you want my opinion (which you may not!) - leave the original antenna on!!
It looks better and will definitely work better than some crappy aftermarket silver thingy ;)
