Ok so I need to pick up a car from down south, which is taxed and MOTed, so all I need is insurance.
Now I don't want a full years insurance just a day to take it up.
But seeing as I'm only 17 just now (about to turn 18) I can't find a company to do a days insurance for me...
So I'm a bit stuck unless dad goes down for it...
Can anyone give me some advice or know of a company? :)
Every new Insurance policy has a 14 day cooling off period, which means, if you decide you dont want the Insurance after you have taken the policy out, then as long as you return all the paperwork, u get a full refund,
Just an idea.

Sounds like a plan! Will look into it, thanks! :)
Try these people- http://www.dayinsure.com/carpricing.aspx
Or when I got my car the I did an RAC HPI check and they were giving 14days free insurance cover if you brought the car. Dont know if they still do it but is worth a shot.
Can you not get a weeks insurance? Im sure when i had to insure a courtesy from seat for a week, it was like £25?

all of the day insurance companies is a minumum main driver age of 21, any other additional drivers are a minimum age 25.
i know this as ive checked it for myself and thats what i found from all the companies.
im 19 btw:)
If you have a policy with another car you can usually add another car for a day, I had to do this with Direct Line recently.

I don't know about anyone else but ive just had a brilliant idea..
apply for the insurance, cancel within 14 days, get ur money back, apply with someone else!
Im sure its illegal and i wouldn't want to try that but the light bulb just lit up above my head hehe

I got some when i test drove DarrenW's car before buying it myself.
Was about £12 for the day.
Just tuped in daily car insurance on Yahoo and it was done via Axa i think - a company in Cheshire i think was the website/broker.

Unfortunatly the insurance company I'm with just now (directline) won't insure me for the car I want to take up...
So looks like dad's driving it up then! :(
