View Full Version : SPS1 to SPS3
Can you trade in your SPS1 for a 3 or do you have to fork out for the whole SPS3 outright?
...no idea why I didn't just get one in the 1st place :(
And is it worthwhile getting an SPS3 on an Ibiza Cupra or would I be stretching too far for std induction/intercooler?
Cheers!

Ask your local Revo dealer, the worst he can say is 'No'.

I personally would look to uprate your IC to make the most of the SPS3 option if you wanted to try some more aggressive settings.
The Ibiza IC is too small for high duty loads... it gets very warm.
forge do a direct replacement IC which does work better than the stock one.. which I would think would complement the SPS3 settings quite well.
We are getting into the "warmer" summer months, so the cars deficiencies will be making themselves more apparent. Better IC is going to be key to achieving higher power with SPS3.

Hi Bill,
...I assume we're talking about the uprated forge item?? or a front mount option?? Is the uprated forge one (but in std location) a worthwhile upgrade??
And any idea on whether I can trade my SPS1 up for a 3?
Cheers mate,

Monty,
When I had my old Revo Cupra R, I upgraded from SPS1 to SPS3. I bought at Fontains and they were quite happy just to charge the difference in controller so you may be ok depending on the dealer.
The SPS 3 was sooo much better then SPS1

Explain please..............
Monty77, I’ve had the SPS3 from day one so can not compare it to SPS1, but I have to agree with Bill and say that to really use the SPS3 you will need an IC upgrade. I've had my SPS3 set to timing 6 and low boost 9 for a while now . This setting made the car alot faster than my old APR code in the colder months but it is now suffering from the heat of the summer months (my old APR neaver really did this), and I am now running timing 7 and high boost 3 to get near the performance of the old (REVO) settings, which is not good!. This is why I am thinking about upgrading my IC or adding a home made IC water spray (if this would make any difference, opinions appreciated please). I think a Dynatwist Induction kit and stainless exhaust (opinions appreciated please) will help but the exhaust in particular will have to wait until funds allow.
