wjhat is the best sort of manifold to buy for my 16v cordy? ive seen supersprint ones in a catalogue in my local shop and it costs about 350 give or take a sheckle, what im wondering is are there any other decent makes out there that are nice& light oh and improves torque, cause thats ne thing that id love to have more of low down and middle range, possibly a bit on top also.
is 4-2-1 or 4-1 the better way to go?
think there was a post that mentioned briefly this subject, but i would like to know as much as poss b4 i part with my hard earned tabledancer dosh.

brendy i'm led to believe the supersprint ones are lhd only but tsr do mild steel ones for vdubs and they (loosely) claim to be seat tuners so they might be able to help ,or failing that you could get ya cast one gas flowed that might get the gases out a bit quicker as i presume it's like the head/inlet manifold and full of unwanted metal .also you champiobn the powerflow label have you asked them ??

when i rang power flow about a de cat pipe all they wanted was the flange off the cat and they could do the rest ,now who knows where you can get hold of the head/manifold flange for a 16v head or would they be able to fabricate one from a gasket:confused:

that's steep considering the labour would be a fair bit ...but tsr do a polished standard one on exchange for 60ukp ,i don't know how much torque increase you could expect but 60 quid is worth a squirt and get the head and inlet ported and polished whie your there ,do i sound like a man who is constantly SKINT

I really want a nice shiney one, as light as possible, also, is there anyone that does some sort of heat shield for the inlet manifold that is above the engine, i reckon that if it was cool you would get a decent improvement in power, mine gets too hot to handle after a while, though it looks brilliant, the 16v engine is one of teh nicest looking engines ive ever seen thats standard!!

made a heat shield for my induction kit and it did keep it cooler and muted the brash noise a bit but now i've got a piper cross and samco hose i need to make another have you thought of some kind of vent to get rid of unwanted hot air .....AND I DO NOT MEAN A SCOOBY ONE. OH YEH now have your photo on me hard drive what did you want me to do to it? 300dpi ? how do i do it on windows xp ,this new pc is far too complicated for my monkey brain:cheers:

I don't know how different they are, but Magnex did a full manifold and system for Golf 16v's. Manifold might be a direct fitment... I twill fit the head for sure, but I don't know about the clearances on the tunnel/steering rack/subframe.

Might be worth a look. cheaper than Supersprint.
It was a 4 to 1.

with respect to port shapes and mounting they are identical. There are some small differences in inlet port splitter thickness (1.8 has narrow web, 2.0 has thick web).
Magnex are generally much more readily available on the used market. You could look at some of the Gti Golf mags etc... for Parts For sale etc... A wider range of places to look.

worth a try..

unless i can get a custom one made i think its either modify lhd ibiza one or gamble on a cheaper mk2 golf 16v item ,ive seen the odd one reasonable priced in pvw and i'm handy with a hammer and know a few welders
