As it says, I would like to know as I'm thinking of my project car again.. :p

The best I've found is the 2.5 TDi 180BHP

 Ian.

Isn't there a W10 diesel in the Toureag to come?

This would need to fit (ok, be shoe-horned) into a Cordoba don't forget! ;)

It might squeeze in a Passat. Lose the rear seats and bung it mid-engine. Better handling balance then...

If VAG do one for a truck, get that :p Loadsa torque

Yep Ed the V is actually a W:confused: ;) .

Ian stick it in the Rear (the engine that is).:p :D

Seriously the 1.9 might be your only option.

Do you reckon the 2.5 would be too big aswell then?

Erk.. a mid engined cordoba.. how easy (ahem!) would it be to make such an arrangement 4 wheel drive then? (curious) :)

I was gonna lose them and the rest of the interior/aircon/possibly glass anyway! :p

2 problems:

1- the 2.5 is real big (tight even in the new passat/A4 chassis)
2- The engine is mounted F/R not sideways like in the cordoba.

Ok, looks like that's out unless it turns into a mid engined project :eyepop:

Just as a reference:
My Revo tuned 150PD engine is quite a bit quicker than my associates 2.5 180hp A4. I haven't tried changing anything else yet, so it might even get quicker if I get a bigger intercooler.:D :D

Have to work on my brakes & suspension 1st though, as I'm lossing to much speed in the twisties right now.:(

Any idea what BHP you're getting from the 150 after being Revo'd?

FYI, the V6 2.5 TDI engine is not a very balanced engine and is easly topped (power and reliability wise) at ~200bhp/300ft-lbs.
You can easly get as much (even a bit more..) from a 1.9 PD TDI150 engine (stock dynos at +160bhp) only with a bit of electronics tweaking. As a bonus this four banger is much lighter than the V6 unit and should fit perfectly the Cordoba´s engine bay. ;)

The 180s go to about 210 with just a chip.

I have got the 2.5tdi A6 and there 'aint much room in it's engine bay - can't imagine it in anything much smaller (the A4 must have it crammed in).

Anyway, I prefer the 1.9tdi engine (although not as smooth) - for the money.

I was actually surprised how much smoother my 1.9 is after having it Revo'd. :D

How about a new 2.0 tdi chipped to about 200bhp 340ft lb in a Cat. Seven or Westfield type body.

500kgs and 340ft lb might be interesting!!

I think all the 16v did, and seen quite a few 1.6 with, don't know about the full range. Definately more Cordies had it than Ibizas.

OK - I'll keep you posted! :D

Anyone know of any coupes on the market/about to be scrapped (or anywhere really!)?
