Hey ho.. guess what I've had yet another Air Mass meter fitted under warranty... Hope I dont need another one, after August!!!! Coz then I have to pay!! :redface:
That pretty strange Stu. Are U using a cotton type filter?

Don't know but U might be over oiling ???
3 in 40K is way to high a failure rate.
As Paulo says ~ K&N oiled filters and fragile VAG MAF units don't go together well......as you've found out. :thumbdown:

You need a "green" filter or similar if you're not happy with a std filter.
Ah but K & N was only fitted 2 k ago!!! Striaght out from box Nothing done to it ie no oiling!!!!

There's gotta be something else wrong.
The MAF on my 110 ibiza only went after >200000km (not normal either). I think they normally last at least 60000km - 80000km. One in your 40k miles would sound more or less normal, deffo not 3. Have U asked your dealer why they're going so quickly?
Well as its done under warrenty, I dont tend to ask why?! just when it goes better, afterwards then Im happy.//../:D

A k&N filter comes pre loaded with oil out of the box:hammer:
I toiled about getting one until I paid a visit to Badger bill and got the green one instead.these are much drier and Maf friendly;)
