Now our driveway is complete, 3 SEAT's nice, new and shiny :D
Initial impressions seem good, once I picked it up I had only driven about a mile when I turned back because the steering wheel was not straight :(
All sorted though, and now I'm taking it to chemix for a full wheel alignment for my piece of mind.
Photos will follow next week as I have FINALLY ordered a new and decent digital camera!
I will also be collecting my Ibiza's strut brace tomorrow, so will post on the difference in handling.
3 SEAT's and I want another.. bring on the Cordie!!
 Ian

I've had to take out a months insurance on the Arosa so I could get it home. Should be selling it to my mom still when she sells her pug 106 so long as the Arosa is ok (gonna test it this weekend). So yup I will be sticking with the TDI for 12-18 months.
After paying my £400 excess today I still am in a flap, but nothing can be done so I'll just presume I'm screwed :( It's all in the hands of insurance now, just hope they decide against my fault or 50:50.. doubt it though. She is not accepting liability, and nor am I so 50:50 looks the way it will go.
Cheers Mark, you decided on Silverstone? If so, look forward to meeting you at last.
Ian.

Fraid' not Ian...I have a cottage from Saturday in Cornwall so If I go to the racing on Monday I won't get to the Cottage till Tuesday morning or late Monday night wasting too much holiday time...I'll be off to oulton park though..and more than likely Brands..maybe Rockingham..?..but Thruxton too far unless I decide to have a day in Bournemouth and a night out there and make it a 2 dayer.....although getting back to Harrogate at 12oclock at night wouldnt appeal .. ..nor getting up for work on Monday at 6am...:(

I have taken the Arosa for a full wheel alignment today - the wheels that were hit are considerably out of alignment. Also the car makes a 'reverberating-humming' noise inside the cabin above about 25mph. I have also noticed a dent in the panel that was supposedly replaced.
Me not happy  More stuff to sort out.

The third party almost always say they are innocent, but hey, didn't this woman drive into the side of your car, with the front of her car?
I'd say she was guilty as hell, and going by your (excellent) diagrams she is inconsiderate too and unaware of other drivers.:head:
The thing she has in her favour is that she is a she and I bet she has shed loads of no claims. I think I am right in saying that if your insurance company table an offer of 50/50 liability that you do not have to accept this.
Good Luck!!;)

Thanks, I need it.
Just been fitting my stereo back into the car and I've now noticed that the visor over the dials is virtually not attatched at all.
I am very angry, and whoever ends up speaking to me will wish they'd never gone into work that day.
I'm bloody sick of no-one doing their ****ing job right, in this excuse of a country

OK, noticed something else.. the interior panel of the rear wing that has been replaced is loose and looks like clips are broken.
Oh and it no longer smells like a new car as they've sprayed shit all over the dash, centre console, steering wheel and leather gear leaver surround. Now I have shiny leather that stinks of a hospital.

Oh forgot about this:
The spare wheel no longer fits in its mounting as they have lost all but one of the polystyrene packing blocks. Also the screw thread with a plastic handle has been virtually destroyed and the plastic moulding is broken and the thread is loose from the plastic 'knob'.

Really sorry DF...get these muppets sorted..
I had an absolute sh1t company...
.Vehicle Bodycare Centre in Leeds
repair a Merc I had once.
made a complete mess of it.
Get the insurance company to send out their quality checker..they at present have paid for the work so far..its right they should be informed that they haven't got what they've paid for....don't accept so much as a screw missing or your resale will be knacked.
You paid insurance for these sort of things to be sorted properly or are you on a special cheap policy that allows cowboy work?
If so how much cheaper than anybody else did you pay for the insurance ;)

My wife was sat stationary at a red traffic light when an idiot drove into the back of her..
There was a policeman walking past just after the accident and my wife says shall we tell him...the other driver said ..no we just have to inform our insurers..GGRRRR
Anyway..back comes a letter from his insurers saying "owing to the circumstances of the accident we hold your client(my wife) responsible:mad:
They always try this on.....anyway I rang up my insurers and told them if my wife lost her no claims I would sue them for negligence and failure to fulfil there duty of care..
You have a witness anyway who will be able to testify that she was in the wrong lane and changing without indicating...did you involve the police..if she was prosecuted it would help your insurance case..you have a witness so you may even be able to inform the police even now.
She's put crap on her claim from so don't have any sympathy even if she was shook up at the time of the accident..she will have felt fine when she filled in jer claim form and thought about losing her no claims;)

No police involvement, and the witness just reckoned I was goin to fast - not hard when compared to her. I somehow don't rate my chances as my shite luck always provails. I'm off down the pub for a Stella or 2, 3, maybe 5...
Oh and I've sucked the nipple off my laptop up with the hoover.. oh what fun for tomorrow! :p
Thanks for 'listening' to me ramble on Mark, as I'm sure you can tell - I ain't in the best frame of mind at present!
 have some :drink: 's

Sad to hear things have not been done right. Best not to get me started about insurance companies tho...
As for the other party not accepting blame, I think that's a sign of the times we live in. See also legislation regarding Health & Safety. Signalling (can't recall whether it was on this thread or the other one you mentioned this) - well, yeah, an important aspect of driving, but bear in mind that you can't always trust a signal. I seem to be forever telling the people I train up for their IAM Advanced Driving Test as much, don't trust a signal unless road positioning or other motion of the car (e.g. braking) suggests the signal is correct. Quite often, you can tell as much (if not more) about where someone's going to go from their position on the road than what the little flashy lights are doing on the corners of their car. Equally, it can be a bit dicey assuming that someone giving no signal is going straight on...
Our roads are in a very sad state these days. All you can do is drive defensively, assume no-one else has a clue and be prepared to surrender your right of way regardless of whether you're in the right or in the wrong. Now, when I were a lad...

yes, you do. I did when a Ford Bronco drove into the side of my Ka. Looked like it was going to court for a long time, but in the end the third party accepted liability. Took almost two years to sort though :(
Thats a sh*tter Ian!
I hope it gets sorted and soon.
- This country / world would be quite a decent place if we didn't have so many tossers.

 everyone - paz how true.
BTW: Her lane position and lack of indication both suggested she was goin left or straight on: no signal and travelling right round the edge of the roundabout... who turns right using that procedure!??!

Oh dear.. Andy, why have you postponed your cupra r kit btw?
Good job you were not hit by a taxi like me a few years ago.
I was changing lines and indicating in our old Corsa when this Taxi flies along out of nowhere and rear ends me. This send the corsa into the crash barrier were it bounces off and then ends across the other side of the carrigeway. 5K worth of damage on the Corsa and just a dented wing on the taxi.
The guy in the taxi got his wing sorted so ther was no evidence of impact!! In the end we were told to rollover and he stated to put in wild claims for loss of earnings!!
After a further 6 months with the Corsa and it not feeling right we traded it in for a Fiesta with 2 years free insurance. Feel sorry for the next owner of that car!!!

My dad was hit by a taxi driver 3 years ago.. the battle is still raging
My heart goes out your dad then!! In essence it only took 6 months to sort it out becuse we were told to roll over. I regret it in a way now.
