...what kind of power is achieveable with this combo? Peoples opinions with similar mods...
I'm guessing this is what Bill would have run before IHI.
Cheers,
A
To my knowledge Bill never ran Revo software.

Nope, Bill ran a *cough* RSD (Oettinger) chip before getting IHI'd.

Although it says I am in Coventry I work and drive to Leamington in my R.
Do you upload the demo's?

My sig is confusing also. I actually live very close to Leamington Spa but work in Daventry where Revo HQ is located. We can install the demo there or you could go to Stealth Racing in Southam which is even closer to Leamington.
Where did you purchase the car from?

Not Listers!!!!!! ;)
I got it from StoneAcre in Doncaster well worth the trip with the cost savings I made off list price.
I have done over 1100 miles in two weeks now I keep finding excuses to go out in the damn thing!!!
Are you going to silverstone?
I know Kev is.
I was going to have the trial put on there and then maybe go back to stealth.

Yes we will have a few people at Silverstone on Monday. All armed with laptops.
See you there.

Ummm, Rich might have been confused at the time. We've been running that set up for ages, haven't got round to a front mount yet though. You'll see around 215bhp 240+ftlb the smic doesn't really give you anymore power just helps retain top end!

What settings are recommended with the SPS3 ??
...I'm assuming the SMIC helps here too.

It depends on the conditions and fuel at the time, we run ours anywhere between low boost 9, timing 5 and high boost 9 timing 9. It seems a good everyday setting is around high boost 3-4 and timing 7 (if running optimax all the time)
...sounds good :)
Cant wait !

i/c fitted and SPS3 is now in my possession.... how do I tell if I've gone too far with the settings?
I was thinking of going high boost 3, timing 6 for starters.

Timing 5 is agressive for 95 ron normal unleaded. Timing 7 is agressive for Optimax. Stick to these and you should be fine. Mines been running low boost 9 for a year with no problems touch wood.

So low boost 9 and timing 6/7 is a good starting point then...
Does the timing(fuel) make a significant difference? I read that all the std Revo software defaults to timing 0 to err on the side of caution. Any idea what psi/bar low boost 9 is?
Cheers :)

If you go to high with the settings you ECU will adjust to suit, thus making your car lose power, if this happens you're best to alter the settings to suit rather than let the ECU do extra work and have the car feeling sluggish.

Good question, depends settings are often altered day to day. I know it's been at low boost9 timing 6 for a while now though (ie optimax setting) it has always been a 'fast' ibiza I think due to it having a hard life!

Excessive settings will result in high induction temps... a worthy adidtional gauge being an air temp gauge for your inlet air charge.
When (not if) it gets high, the ecu will drive ignition down and boost....(drop the torque request) all in the name of self preservation. You will be glad that REVO have retained all the factory "safety's" in place.
Less is more. usually.

....tried a few combos on the way home tonight.
Low boost 9, timing 6 ... pulled better, nice :)
High boost 2, timing 6 ... peak boost was lower but seemed to hold it longer
Am I safe to choose timing 7? I'm running Optimax....and is it much of a difference.
Think I'll try high boost 3+4 tomorrow on the way to work....ambient temps will be a bit cooler then too - I doubt 30 deg C is an ideal testing ground.
Cheers,
A
