Did my brakes a few weeks ago and had to replace the calipers so had to bleed the system.
Wasn't an easy task doing it myself, loosen bleed nipple an carefully balance a glass jar or empty fluid bottle with bleed tube inserted, jump in car an press pedal, jump out car and tighten nipple, jump in car(again!) and find pedal goes to floor(bang head off steering wheel and try again) only this time to find bottle has fallen over and a rather large puddle has formed under bleed hose, then look round garage and see if theres enough rags or old teatowels lying around( to find all you got is one thats covered in grease and oil:lol:). do same on all 4 callipers only to find the flippin pedal still travels to the floor(repeat as required, lol). After a few hours of this and a lot of cursing I figured I would go and look in some car shops an see if they had any bleed kits and found one that made the job so much easier called GUNSONS EASIBLEED. it has a bottle for fluid with a length of clear tube coming out it, a screw cap for the fluid reservior( 4 different size caps in kit), and a tyre inflator valve(guess wot that does??). I used a tyre off my old motorbike(kit says to use spare but I couldn't be bothered letting 60psi out stupid looking little spare only to spend 10mins at a garage blowing it back up again, lol) as pressure has to be no more than 20psi or you end up with fluid leaking everywhere. I was lucky if job only took me 10 minutes, once I figured out how to stop the flamin bottle leaking under the pressure from tyre.
A worth while investment if you ask me and can save a lot of time when bleeding or renewing brake fluid.
Next investment I think will be one of them VAG/COM code reader thingies, but at 150pounds(sorry little pound sign on keyboard has disappeared) it's going to have to wait a little while longer, mabye after car gets through it's mot this month.
