View Full Version : Help with Cupra R
I have just taken delivery of a Leon Cupra R and am experiencing some little problems.
Can any one tell me how to turn off the auto door locking. I appear to have to pull the door handle several times to enter or exit the car. Does this happen to all R's.
also can any one tell me how to turn off the travel news that interrupts the CD player frequently, its dirving me crazy. I have the Sat Nav fitted.
cheers
matt.

You tried the handbook chief :p
Seriously, no idea on the locking, the traffic news, id look for a TA or TP button on the stereo and see what disappears in the display.
Yeh tried the handbook, no mention (unless I missed it) about how to turn off the auto locking.
As for the radio, it has loads of pages about the TP. It say's to turn the radio to fm to stop the travel announcements, but this doesn't stop them during a CD.

in my motor (TDI 130) both doors lock when you go over 10 mph and when i stop and turn the ignition off the driver door unlocks but the passenger door you need to pull the handle once to unlock it then again to open.
I would see your dealer it sounds like you have a central locking demon:devil:
There are two seperate settings:
1. Auto lock - locks doors above 15kph
2. Auto Unlock - unlock doors when the key is removed from the ignition.
These can be set with VAG COM (your dealer will have it) via the diagnostic port on the central console. I had both enabled on my car and I like it - but without (2) it would suck ass ;)

The pulling the door several times is the way its supposed to be !
same as my old BMW
pull once to unlock then again to open, its a pretty simple system
Anti Car jacking
The only way to get it turned off is to get a dealer to do it
To turn off TA you should just have to hold the ta/TP button doen for a few seconds and it should turn off
