View Full Version : Leaking air-con?

Yesterday there was water dripping down from the back of the engine bay (roughly behind the re-circ valve but slightly towards the passenger side of the car and down)

Is this where the air-con unit is? Yesterday it was dripping like a good-un and this morning I knocked the air-con off and there was no dripping.

I've just been outside and ran the air-con for about 5 minutes but no drip, maybe it takes a while to come through.

If it is the air-con leaking, it happened before with my old Toledo but the garage dismissed as an 'overflow' on the air-con system.

But if this is true, what replaces this water? Surely it would eventually run out?

Many thanks:cheers:

assuming that it is clean clear water it sounds like condensate from the heat/cool exchanger, which is from the atmosphere as you would get in a fridge. hope this helps, Nic

Yep it is just water that comes from the cooling process of the AIr-con perfectly normal.
