Hey guys

has anyone looked at their maf recently?!!! (clean honest!)

ahem... anyway check the pic which is attached off a VW site i found it looks like it has a wire joining the two pins on the top, i have taken my maf apart and it has two pins on the side or top but they are not joined, should they be?

As I understand it older MAFs had a wire accross.

Newer ones just have the doo-dahs at the sides :)

Don't touch anything inside..... :(

mik is right. Be careful that wire is a strand of platinum wire.When dirty the MAF stops working.

cool, cheers dudes, mine doesnt have the wire and i thought that might be why the turbo doesnt spin up right, a dodgy maf, but i checked my dads S Reg Golf TDI 90 last night and he doesnt have a wire either so its ok, as expected.

We will just have to see what richardsons find, probably a dodgy turbo or wastegate.

I get to drive my girlfriends dads Astra 1.6 petrol.... urrghhh i know..... back to the old petrol malarky of changin gears loads :p
