well i think u have to cut them in really on a standered shelf that the only way really.
i no some1 who vecrowed a set on to an escort shelf the results wernt good. poor sound to flying missiles in an accident.
the ideal solution is 2 make your own shelf or see if any1 makes oen for your car
was thinking fix to mdf shelff then fix up under the holes where the originals sat:confused:

jase, no no no no no no nooooo no..
if your only thinking of buying them cause they may be cheap and a little better than standard, then dont. Better components up front and a sub will make a far better sound, 6x9's arnt going to fit anyway feasable and cheap, no point hacking at the metal shelf when a sub and better fronts will do.
post on icecavern for petes attention, he'll give you a better answer me thinks! :)

I've got Kenwood custom fit components up front, kenwood custom fit 6x4's in the rear and a 12 inch calibre sub running off a 200w Kenwood 2 channel amp, bridged of course. Does me fine and is 500% better than the standard tat! Only cost me £300 all in without the head unit aswell! :)
