I'm getting these SPL SD-6.2 components to fit in my mk2 ibiza;
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dynamics-sd62-p-5523.html
Type: 2-way system
Power handling RMS / Max: 80 / 160 W
Frequency response: 50 - 22 000 Hz
SPL (1W/m): 91 dB
Anyone recommend a suitable amp to power them? What wattage do I need?! I also want to run either some replacement 6x4's or fit some 6x9's for a bit of rear fill so do I need a 4-way amp or will they be alright just running off the HU? Would fit a sub but I need the boot space. :( Wouldn't mind an SPL amp to match.
Also, anyone else mounted components in the original dash space behind the grills? What's the easiest way to fit them there?! :confused:
Any help much appreciated. Cheers!!

Also, is there a maximum power I can run off the standard battery/alternator before it causes problems?

You'l definatly need an amp to run them off mate to get the full benefit from them. Id get a 200watt amp to run them off or if your going to get some 6x9's then get a 4 channel 600watt amp to run them both off. A 4awg amp wiring kit will be more than enough to power it all

All depends on budget as to what amp to get really mate.
Id highly recommend a set of Focal 6x9's tho, pure all round quality

Ok, I'll look at the Focals. Well, my budget is potentially unlimited but I don't wana spend silly money as I don't think it'd be worth spending more than say £200... but whatever really! ;)
Any ideas?

You wona be looking for something like the Vibe Slick A4 or depending on your make prefferences you may want to look at some Alpine and Pioneer ones
The Focal 6x9's should be around £100 and the Vibe Slick A4 about £200. If you want a cheaper amp but with the same build quality as the Vibe then go for the Fli amps as there made by vibe, i have a 400w 2 channel and 800w 4 channel Fli amp which are very good for the money

Would the vibe slick A4 be overkill? (150w per channel) My components are 80w RMS and 6x9s about 90w RMS but likely to be upgrading the 6x9s as they are only temporary. I like the look of the vibe stuff though so maybe the slick A3?

I doubt the A4 would kill anything unless you were really giving it some. I wouldnt recommend having any of the channels turned right up on the amps anyway regardless of the power outputs. The slick A3 would do pretty much the same job as the A4 so would be ideal, saves you a few quid aswel lol

Thanks mate! Think I may as well get the A4, no point messing about... lol :cartman:
