Three out of four keeps Stefan poles apart

For the second time today – and for the third time in four attempts - Stefan Hodgetts was fastest in qualifying and in doing so has secured pole position for round 4 of the Holiday Inn SEAT Cupra Championship.

Unlike this morning’s qualifying for race 3, this afternoon’s session was held on a completely dry Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Hodgetts, driving the loaded sponsored Leon Cupra R, set fastest time and coolly sat out the final five minutes in the pits, preserving his Pirelli tyres for the double header race day on Bank Holiday Monday (May 26).

Robert Huff will line up alongside Stefan on the front row of the grid for race 4 , the Cambridge driver responding well to the challenge on his Championship lead. James Pickford, driving the ABT Cupra R, ended a good day with third on the grid, ahead of Gavin Smith and Spencer Marsh.

Julian Westwood never completed a flying lap. He noticed a knocking noise coming from his Orange-backed Leon even before the session began, and having hit 120.9mph down Hangar Straight, Julian lost all drive going around Stowe Corner and parked his Leon with suspected transmission problems at Club.

Karl Goshawk completed a difficult day with a big spin at Copse, and although he will start both races on Monday from 14th place on the grid, the ISG-backed driver is looking forward to race day.

Thanks mark, now on a 'puter

nice pic of Spencer here:-

3rd season was wet and only Hodgetts and Pickford used slicks, which could be a good or bad things depending on Monday (if its wet, they may have a disadvantage due to not having wet track time).

Anyway, good luck Spencer

see you on Monday

Couple of nice results for James. Spencer better placed in Race 4 which is more important anyway. All the best Spencer.

Towcester 5 day Weather Outlook.

Weather looks to be fine for race day, but it will be blowing a gale, and driving rain you can guarantee it :D

should be interesting races. Hodgetts obviously seems well keyed into the car. Huff is up there aggain and so is Pickford which is impressive.
Spencer's a little way back but not impossible. Plenty of overtaking opportunities round a grand prix circuit.

Anyone who saw spencer last year will know he is bloody excellent at passng ops.

interesting that one of Spencers top rivals, Julian was last in race 4 qualifying.

Also surprised that Shedden, Winrow and D'Cruze are low dne.

Hodgetts car looks good in Black with the Loaded sponsorship.

Anyway looks like ingrediants for a good race.
GO SPENCER GO!!!

After seeing Spencer at Croft, i dont doubt his passing skills :)

And the top 10 cars were all very close racing, it'll be fun to see what happens.
