First of all thanks to Kev for Revo-ing my R with the demo at Silverstone meet.
A question though.... I have been driving the car for about 1hr 15mins and some times the car seems a bit hesitant. Could my R be overboosting? and does the demo go into these thresholds? It has happend in 2nd 5th and 6th the boost comes in and the it goes er er er lets go! it does not happen so much if I am changing gear at say 6000 rpm.????
(I have the Forge 007p fitted prior to the demo)
I said I would never pay that much but if the demo is 30% less power and without the above then it will be hard going back to stock. (+ the thing is such a stealth install)
Mark. :D
Odd. It could either be overboost or underboost due to loss in the DV but with the Forge installed this shouldn't be happening.
The annoying thing with upping the boost is that if there is a small problem with the boost prior to chipping, it will be more noticable after.
The only way to find out for sure is either to hook up a boost gauge or a laptop with Vagcom measuring the proper channels.
It would be interesting to read the DTC's to see if there are any and which ones.
Cheers,
GJ.

The REVO trial software is dumbed down from the actual final code.
Having has somebody kind enought to let me drive an Ibiza fitted with the demo software @ silverstone I was most impressed with the smoothness and the pickup over standard code (I actually found 5th gear did something :D). Still lots of money to spend though for the full whack.

Mark, the trial could still be adapting to your car/driving style. Unfortunatley it isn't as powerful or as smooth as the full software, plus doesn't have the switchability. These are limitations set by the need for the trial software to revert back to stock after a given driving time.

Weird,
Mine does exactly the same thing with the Demo
especially in 6th
sort of stutter stutter, go!
Just want to thank Kev again for giving my car the Revo treatment as well.
I haven't had the problems you describe Mark, or at least i never noticed them. It's hard to say really as i've been doing mostly motorway miles. The difference in pulling power between turbo spool up and full blowing turbo is more noticable but thats to be expected with higher boost preasure. That might feel like it's lagging more than the standard program.
My personal experience is that the whole program is alot smoother than the standard and that the power is simpley awsome. Reaching a 100 is soo easy, it's nearly too easy. The pick up in all the gears is staggering and slightly confusing. I'm never sure which gear i'm in cus i can just pull in them all. 6th felt like 4th and 4th is the new 3rd. Awsome.
I'm sold, i just can't wait to save up the money i need for revo.
Another question for Revo Kev though:
What exactly happens when the program expires, will there be a light or something?
Is the demo software stealth like the full program, only asking cus i'm supposed to take it to the dealers to get the ECU warning light looked at.(Speaking of which you said something about that to me and it was turned off after it was revoed, did you do that???)

Yes the Trial is still stealthy, there was an intermittant fault in your car which I cleared, any fault codes that are cleared will come back almost immediately if there is a problem. Has it come back on?
You're safe to take it to the dealers, just don't let them drive it if you've still trial time left!
After the 5 hours are up it will pull back to stock rather than just switching as if someone has pressed 'stop'

Cool, cheers for that, i probably didn't hear you say that to me as the historics where making a noise in the background, i'll probably cancel taking it to the dealers if you cleared the problem and since the light is still off.
I had the same 'stutter stutter go' problem on my APR installation.
It all went away after fitting a decent air filter.
