Slowly building up a picture, seems that brake fluid upgrade is getting good press.
Keep it comming. If we get enought can turn this into a mini database for upgrades, and grade them.

.
with 17's don't really need t change susp IMO
Apart from that it raises your COG & makes your car tramline more
suspension changes on the ibiza/cordoba makes the car.
it's too soft & waggly as stock.

I've no more info stuck on my cage sorry. They do all the Seat cages though on the demo cars. Sorry I can't find their number.
Suspension is a requirement on the Ibiza/cordaba, I also found that the upper and lower strut braces were incredibly beneficial.
Decent pads and fluid are a must, theres also no point in upping to 'big brakes' without first maximising the potential of existing brakes through use of pads, fluid, hoses. If that fails to perform then uprate the entire lot.
Having been there and done that I wouldn't recomend 17" on the Ibiza, they handle a load better on 15" or 16" rims.
I could go on and on!
Hi
In order of importance (1 being high)
1. Make the car as light as you reasonably can
2. Put some decent tyres on it - std diameters
3. Uprate suspension - includes strutbraces, correctly set geometry and polybushes. ARB's have big effect.
4. Uprate brakes - uprate std components first (fluid change, braided hoses, pads, disks - in that order of importance) then if still not upto it bigger disks and calipers. Rears only need to work properly.
5. Close ratio gearbox with Quaife diff
6. Engine - head cams and a remap, std airbox with K+N panel filter in, exhaust questionable benefit I'd say.
7. Probably need the better brakes now and possibly a second round of suspension mods
8. Race seat
9. Roll cage and harnesses
10. Junk all ABS system and fit adjustable bias brake setup
11. Move remaining weight around car to optimise F/R balance
12. Start to remove weight in increasingly unreasonable places - anything thats hinged (doors, bonnet, hatch, fuel flap) so as to not reduce structural integrity of car
13. Plastic windows
14. Fibreglass body panels
15. Full on race ATL bag tank with duel fuel pumps. Dry sump.
16. Custom wide track suspension, modified subframe, big wheel arches with 8" slicks. Triangulated rear beam to prevent flexing under corner loads.
Cost ? loads - well over 10K possibly getting on for 15-20K
Cheers
Rob
Cheers guys for the info on Custom Cages and Les Hicks, but I can't get phone numbers for either of them! :(
Cheers
Ben
Don't know it but the details are in PVW!
custom cages are round the corner from kev's work
but i gotta run up there to get a price for the front of my cage - so if the tumble drier man gets a leg on tomorrow I'll shoot up there.
Mark
On side of my cage is sticker saying CC tel number is 01327 72855
Cheers
Rob
Cheers Rob.
It look slike there may be a digit missing on that number, but I'll give it a go.

These are mods that I actually have done and actually have experience of actually - I'm up to number 13 at present - along with more engine mods than are listed - throttle bodies, custom airbox and filter system, lumenition ECU, several remaps.
Cheers
Rob

Excellent, but what are the products you are using for all these mods.
And how do you rate the products.
Mk1 golf 1.1 (:spin: :laff1: )
Fitted Koni red suspension kit. Now handles like a roller skate! Can do 90 degree corners in third, but I almost went out of the drivers window!! :(
Swapped 13" steels for 14" alloys with proper tyres - much better grip and road holding.
Jetex exhaust half system - great sound and looks!
Stripped out interior - very noisy and light. Cool.
Ecotek thingy - works well with carb but not well with EFI on my Mk2 GTi....
'02 leon cupra in silver/leather blah blah blah.
good mods.
17" kosei racers in anthracite(skinny 5 spokes keeps brake temps down)
forge 07 diverter made boost delivery nice and smooth 5***** mod
ecotec valve so so mod took a little uneveness out of a bumpy idle and seemed to smooth engine generally(took quite a bit to set up)
Upsolute ecu conversion(fitted by simon @ccctech)
10 out of 10 to simon......dude knows his stuff and my cupra flies.
pagid pads considerable improvement over stock.
Koni shocks and eibach springs number 1 mod (maybe the car ought to have left the factory with these!!!!!!!!)
bad mods
piper cross induction kit from golf 4 (slightly modded to fit.)
everyone looked at the car and i felt like a c**t
in all honesty car felt slower and diverter valve noise became annoying
impending mods
good panel filter for standard box
miltek exhaust
....and big ice as I going competing in the soundoffs again
Lets see if a seat can match my silver punto gt from the '96/'97 IASCA sound off season
1.6 Leon S, Ecotek valve, quite a nice mod for the price.
he he he. not thats it's relavent to a seat site
punto GT 1372cc IHI RHB-VL7 turbo & intercooler
apexi AVC-R set to 1.2 peak 3000-4500rpm then 1 bar to 7200rpm
SEB1 chip (fitted by me made by turbocrime)
FSE valve set up on RR for 1bar of boost past 4500rpm
Magnex 2 1/4 inch exhaust CAT back
quickshift stainless steel filter moved forward in the engine bay
power approx 170hp @ 6000rpm
torque 165lb ft @ 3500
