View Full Version : LCR suspension
can you give me a quote for the best spring/damper combo for the LCR.
i was looking into coilovers but my funds at the moment only allow the above...
only really want a drop of 20-25mm all round....alot of people go for the eibach/koni mix, but are their any others?...would idealy like the ride to be ok, doesnt have to be super comfortable...this is a hot hatch after all!, although i want the handling to be spot on...
also supply and fit neuspeed ant roll bars. 25mm front, 28mm back and wheel allignment.
thanks

Yeah, thats the issue that seems to get me everytime too! Good luck with it!
The missus always finds better ways to spend my money :(
thing is..the LCR is very low as it is..but you wouldnt think it, when you look at the clearance between wheels and bodywork. 20mm is fine, i shouldnt need a sump guard this way lol
Hey the best I think would be KONI SFD'S with EIBACH springs,
two good names!!!!!!:D
Shaun uses them in his VRS and it has very nice ride!!!!!!!!!:D
cheers people..just waiting for a reply from AmD....
i think you could probably get weitec hicon GT coilovers for around £475 from demon tweeks, i was speaking to shaun about them at the AMD cup day and he reckons they do a fitment for the LCR. i don't how much he would charge to supply and fit them though??

Hi
Sorry for slow reply, I was away last weekend.
All the coilovers that we list give a minimum drop of 30mm?
I would personally go for KW V1 coilovers which are £548+vat and fitting with wheel alignment is £200+vat. We can do Variant 3 KW kits with free fitting but the price of the kit jumps up to ££845.96+vat.
Weitec offer coilovers priced from £475inc vat and with damper adjustment for £640.
Neuspeed coilovers are on special offer from Awesome who are the importer at the moment so they are selling them cheaper than we can buy them for! Try them direct for the best prices.
Cheers Shaun.
hello AMD,
what else will need upgrading if i go the variant 1 route?....may aswell ugrade everything suspension wise while i am at it...

Morning,
The only other thing that is a must is top mounts and bearings when changing the shocks and springs. Without looking it would be impossible to say if anything else is worn enough to require replacing.

Not going to teach you to suck eggs but I'd comment as follows;-
Std Leon having a minimum of -30mm could be right but doesn't sound like an LCR kit (which i'd expect -10 or 15mm+)
I'm only worried because of the different components front end on an LCR (S3 / TT setup) and lack of knowledge from some suppliers.....(my experience)
-30mm or more in an LCR would need carefull driving or you could loose your sump

Hello,
Most of the kits are a minimum 30mm and the LCR is a minimum of 15mm.
Ben
well she is only on 25k.....so worse case scenario how much all in for these things?

worse case scenario would be every bush and suspension item, but it's not likley to need all that.
As I said erlier the only musts unless anything else is seriously worn is the Top Mounts and bearings. These are £30 plus vat.
