Just curious, I always figured revo was a Psion registered trademark?
Did you get permission to use it?
http://www.psion.com/revo/
they do
but as revotechnik are called revotechnik I think they'll be safe

Hmm, sounds like dodgy ground.
doesn't matter I'm just about to get in my new car I've just built called a SAET Ibiza
TBH I've never looked at the revo website. Who is attaching the 'Revo' moniker to revotechnik software or products. To me it just seems like ppl like you and me on forums who can't be ars*d to type the full name. If they were trading as 'Revo' and branding things as 'Revo' then that might be different.

I wasn't having a go, just a question, I thought they used "revo" as a brand name?
Saet would be a different matter, different spelling, like them using "reevo" or something.

Not strictly true. A play on names or naming which is similar can be an infringement too. McDonalds played hardball with a few restaurants/fast food places who tried to trade of their name/brand/market.
yes, they threatened to take a "take-a-way" in Farnborough McWok-a-way (very good in there actually) to court a while back and lost. Stellios did the same with Easy Cafe in Aldershot and some other "easy" companies. Not sure of the outcome there.
Isnt the logo on some peoples cars at Silverstone just say revo?

Resident Encrypted Variable Output.....
apparently!
what about Révo who trade world wide, makers of quality shades and optical coatings
There's a McChina's in the Surrey/Hants area doing a big promotional push through the local rags too. TBH a 'Mc' non-American food restaurant is just too cheesy for me. My uncle in Dublin almost called his chinese restaurant something stupid but I pushed him in the direction of something else; now called 'Shanghai' or 'Shanghai Gardens'
Sory about the off-topic.

Brand names are a funny thing when it comes to using the same name for different things.
I seem to remember a court case where Durex (the UK condom makers) were trying to stop Durex (the Australian sticky tape manufacturers) from using the name.
The judgement seemed to come out as that the name could be the same, provided there could not be any confusion as to the type of product.
So, in theory, I could call my car a Big Mac, and get away with it as it couldn't be confused with a hamburger.
...or something like that.
(just don't try wrapping the Australian Durex around your knob, or you may regret it!)
McDonalds also successsfully sued a cafe in Aberdeen (IIRC) that was called McDonalds. Thing is the owner's name really was McDonald. I think that sucks.
BTW BIG MAC (or rather B16 MAC) is on a Scooby - I saw it in Manchester a few months ago.
There was a guy called ken tucker who owned a fried chicken place. Called
Ken tuckers fried chicken. He was successfully sued by another large fast food chain
