I have been asked by a few people lately about mapping and AmD...
I will confirm (after speaking with Scott @ AmD) that they do continue to offer bespoke mapping for normally aspirated and forced induction cars. (Sporttek is an option on chipping at a price as well as their own developed programs)
So if you want your n/a car mapped, turbo car mapped etc they continue to offer this service.
Note: Don't expect any chipper/tuner to be too interested in finishing off someone elses installed upgrade, be it head, cams, exhaust etc.... as the likelyhood being that they might inherit a "problem" which is not caused by them, but would be expected to be fixed by them, as they would have touched it last and be deemed responsible. - This is a tuners nightmare.
This is made worse when you find there have been some bodges done by shop (a) and shop (b) are expected to make good the end product - your car mapped nice and properly for example. If you booked it in for a remap, thats what would be expected and charged for, but it would likely never be that straight forward, as fixing a fault would eat into the dyno time to RR the car...
the moral/advise here being if you can one stop shop for your upgrades, it is a good idea, as overall, it would more than likely work out easier and less hassle. Only one company accountable. (a) would blame (b) and visa versa for example.
regards
Bill
