Hello

I am noticing a fairly loud clunk from somnewhere (Underneath?) when i move off from junctions and from being parked, if I tap the accelerator when the car is moving I get a clunk clunk clunk! I will be booking into the garage tomorrow but any thoughts you have about this will help!

Toledo 2002 TDI...
Cheers

Sounds like it might be the driveshaft. Mine went about 5 months ago and sounded just as you've described. Luckily it was replaced under warranty.

At first it sounded like an exhaust bracket had come loose, but when I explained the noise to the dealer, he mentioned that they had had to replace a few driveshafts recently.

Hope this helps.

Hope it's not an engine mount like another Toledo owner did.

I would describe that sound more like a small nuclear explosion under the bonnet !

Stu.

I notice that you've changed to a 170, was this down to the engine mount problem?

Hey Goose,

Yeah kind of, the engine mount problem was the final decider.

Miss the 150 refinement, but enjoying the 170 rev happiness.

Cheers,
