Hi,

I've just been looking at renewing my insurance by going through some online sites.

The stumbling block seems to be when you click that you have modifications. I have the FR 18 inch wheels. As soon as you say you have these even though on some sites you have the option of saying that they are a factory option, quotes go up horrendously or you don't get a quote at all.

What is the deal here? Prices going up £100! What about some of you that have Bluetooth and all sorts?

Is it best speaking to insurers rather than doing stuff online? I know the wheels are an add on, but does a computer see it a bit black and white if you know what I mean?

Any thoughts would be welcome.

If you wanted to put a quote on our website www.greenlightinsurance.com under the modifications section state "Seat 18" alloy wheels". You could also list other factory options that way if you decided to take our our quotation the details would be listed on your insurance statement of fact.

It will not increase our quotation at all for 18" alloys.

We will then e-mail you back a price.

Best Regards

Neil, thank you so much for your reply. I wish I had come across you earlier. Sadly, I had just taken out a policy a few hours before you had posted this. And yes, I paid extra for the wheels. Never mind.

I'll remember about you for next year though.

Many thanks again though for your time.

That time of year again!

I have just completed a quote form via Greenlight. Thanks for the tips Neil.
