Found this - well actually I'm on their mailing list and took a peek - I'm guessing from their product code and shape that this is a front mount application. Who's the manufacturer?

Looks suspiciously like a forge jobbie.

Looks the same as the Forge one I've just got. Looks like I got a mega bargain compairing what I paid.

what kind of benefits do you get from an uprated intercooler? what other modifications should you do it with, an uprated turbo? Would it be appropriate if you had the standard turbo, but chipped to a higher boost? what kind of power increases would you expect?

Stu

How does the Forge I/C compare with stock on your Jabba'd car Wayne, as opposed to Bill's uber-Ibiza?

Gilly:
I see from your link that GRS make many chargecoolers for *cough* Ford applications.

Just wondering if if you knew if there is anything in the pipeline at a similar price for the Ibiza 20vt/1.8t in general.

cheers
Dan

Erm, how closely did you look at the site? They DO a 1.8T Ibiza intercooler!

DOH!

A chargecooler I meant-not an intercooler!

something like ala Badger Bill;)

OIC.....:D

Speak to Graham. He recommends a decent 'exposed to air' intercooler over a charge cooler, specially at higher boosts. Bill I beleive is running compativly low boost into a larger turbo so the charge cooler is probably OK for this.

you also probably want to avoid the maga bucks of a charge cooler too.

Remember charge coolers are'nt necesarily better for all applications.

Hello...

Me iz ere

Chargecooler is working lovely... now has its switchable pump speed with boost working.

Ran on Jabba's rollers again and Mike adjusted a few things on the boost controller and we ran a more aggressive map...

:D Happy Chappy :D

I'll post a dyno when I get a min, but the car is significantly stronger pulling now. A much stronger mid range torque than before and some more top end legs. charge temps were controlled well.

DIN Rule power figure was 360bhp and over 300lb/ft torque now. - I'll have to check the actual numbers off the dyno tho.

2nd gear now just squeeks in the dry, but grips....
0-100 has to be sub 10s I think.

PVW Bruntingthorpe day is next Wednesday so real times will be recorded then. (hoping its dry of course :p)

Santa Pod on sunday so I hope to not have broken the car for Wednesday.

Looking good.
Its getting there :)

Max temp on full load full boost after several consecutive runs max'd out at 48'C and recovered very quickly.
Dyno room temps were in the 30's too ! Melting!
