Crappy little things though even when I chenged them to Infinities... :(
6x9's were the answer when I summoned up enough courage to take a jigsaw to the rear shelf on my brand new motor!!!! EAK!
nicer sound now - and with some pretty damn good base fom the rear now :)

Just depends on which way you look at them. :)

I've replaced mine with a pair of JBL 6x4's and am powering them with a Sony 50w amp. They are suprisingly good for their size. I'll be junking them for a pair of 6x9's when I can justify the cash.

Don't expect a huge gain from them if you don't amp them as well. They needed the amp to get something from them. If you want to uprate them and don't want the amp I'd bite the bullet, get 6x9's and hack that shelf! :)

thought of sony 7547 amp.pioneers at rear.kenwoods or pioneers at front.also adding sony cd changer.mind you replacing the front loooks difficult (i have seen the info on this site for this )

6x4s it is then:)

Replacing the front's isn't difficult at all. More awkward than before because the door panel has to come off but if you get a trim removal tool and take your time they come off easy. Oh and unlike fords etc they go back on without any rattles....

I tell you though a set of the Kenwood PSR70P components up front amp'd up will suit most without messing with the rears. They sound very good. Just ask Saul, he's got a set wired to an RF 400.4 amp and an RF sub and it sounds sweet. No rears at all.....

If you are replacing the 6x4s with same size upgrades then Rockfords are a pretty surprising improvement considering the dimensions - had these on my 16V.

But now gone for Rockford 6x9s on my 20VT. HUGE difference ;) I messed around with the settings for a while as the bass was initially too heavy, but now I've got it pretty much spot on.

don

We tried the RCA convertor, great untill u turned the engine nd in the words of Paul Calf :- "Bag o' shite"

So instead we used the rear speaker lines as front and rear level inputs (split the rears so i had 2 sets) this then fed into the amp and roberts your fathers brother.

If u want more detail giz a shout on address below

This was for a 4ch amp.
Just make sure u got front and rear level inputs on the amp, oh yeah and the filters so u can put a set on low pass for a sub and the fronts on high pass

:)
