Has anyone else had to replace the rear upper strut bearing on their Leon/Toledo?
My car has racked up 114000+km and it's already on its 3rd set.:(
Seems that every 50000km or so I start getting the rear knocking/poping noise, replace the bearing and evereything goes back to normal. Dealer told me it's due to the rough roads + the 17's.

I know the roads suck, but I never had them replaced in any other car not even the beeza with 200000+km.

3 sets seems a bit excessive Paulo. I know you changed your dampers, did you fit new bump stops too? Have you tried harder ones yet?

No, haven't tried replacing them yet. I don't think I really go through full travel that much. Have tried finding VW motorsport rear mounts, but without success. Not sure if the stiffer dampers have anything to do with it.?
Not that the rear bearings are expensive, but replacing them every 7-8 months is a hassle.

Think that 3 sets is way to much, starting to believe that something else could be causing the upper strut bearings to fail.

Could the whole rear end be misaligned (don't even know if it's possible)? Or maybe a bent rear shock?
I just don't know, but am trying to look into all possibilities.

The whole suspension front & rear seem loose at the moment (plus the whole thing makes tons of noise (clunking & popping)). I already have the powerflex replacement bushings for the front swaybar, but am wondering if I should change anything else.

Thanks for your help guys! :)
