Various web sites discuss modding cars by Tubo'ong them.
I wonder why nobody's Turbo'd a V5. I would have thought it would have left the 1.8T boy's standing.
Have to check, but I think it's been done (on the mk4 golf V5).
Probably cos the V5 is more thought of as a cruising car rather than a GTI type car ready to mod. Better project cars to start with perhaps.
After further thought I bet the 2.8 V6 engine would fit............I wonder if the Passat's W8 would fit?
I thought the V5 could be supercharged easier that turbo'd ?
I reckon it would sound awesome, if a somewhat pricey mod !
yep supercharger for the v5 is the way to go heard of turbo'd v5 as well (in a bora) but the supercharger is way superior on this engine
according to the vw boys there aint much available for v5 tuning unless you have mega bucks for schrick cams etc and the supercharger is by far the best vfm
only need to save up 1.5k now to buy 1 :(

VR6 should fit the space cos it's in the Leon and fits mk3 Golf and can be squeezed into Ibiza and mk2 Golf no probs. W8 is meant to be compact but I bet that's a real heavy lump and a sure way to mess the weight distribution and handling of the car. Don't bother with that though, there are already twin-turbo and supercharged version of the 3.2 V6.
So, anyone know what power a supercharged V5 puts out then ?
the one i looked at was approx an extra 90bhp and shed loads more torque through out the curve
some can give lots more though

Hmmmmm..........suspension, brakes, and clutch spring to mind for some reason !
