I only want to wire up all my four speakers and I cant be bothered with a sub (not yet anyways)
I was wondering if somebody could tell me if either of these amps would allow high end input ie. not having to buy rca convertors

Thanks for those links.
I dont really want to spend anything over £100 so which one do you think is the best?

It's not the most powerful there but I'd go for the Alpine MRP-F242

Quality will be better than most of the others.
The JVC would be next on my list out of those few.

ok...
Im not after anything too powerful anyway. but this should be better than the standard HU and do you think the standard speaker wire will take the more powerful load? Also what amp power cable kit should i get?
I dont want to melt anything thats all...

Well for that power you could easily get away with a 4 Guage Power cable amplifier kit.

It will deffinitley make it louder better quality not so sure becaue thats limited by the SQ of the source Head Unit.
Standard speaker cable should be fine but I'd look into replacing it if you could at a later date.
Finally dont forget to sound deaden your doors...the biggest improvement you'll get with the factory fitted speakers will be by deadening the doors.
To dramitically change the sound quality changing the speakers would help right?
Im just going to run an amp on the standard speakers for now and see how it sounds, if it sounds horrible ill do a full upgrade. starting with the fronts first!
What sound deadening material should i take a gander at?
(That cable you showed me has RCA connectors on it. I take i just strip them off and wire them directly to the speakers? Im a slight novice...)

Yep better quality components would help but again if the source unit isnt upto scratch then the speakers will be limited by the Quality of the source unit & again by the Quality of the recording but thats a problem for a whole new thread ;) lol
I didnt even bother replacing my rears when I did my install & just disconnected them totally but yeah rule of thumb is better fronts first.
I've used Second Skin Damplifier Pro on my doors & boot but it isnt cheap (My bulk kit was £140 plus postage)
I'd recommend either Second Skin Damplifier or Dynamat Extreme.
There are others but I've not used them so cant comment but both Dynamat & Second Skin are really easy to work with.
As for wiring to the H/U I'm not sure myself as I've only ever used RCA's for mine.
But I assume you just strip back the Speaker wire from the H/U & wire the relevant speaker cable into the little block on the AMP for the Speaker line input.
The lovely people over on Talkaudio.co.uk may be able to give you better advice on how to fit the amp using speaker connections.

ah ok.
this is what i was thinking, taking the speaker leads from the back of the headunit and then wiring them to the amp, and then running wire from the amp to the speakers.
Bit of a long way round - there must be a better method. i'll blast off to talkaudio and let you have some peace. thanks for your help!!

Lol your ok happy to help when & where I can :)
Talkaudio will be a real help I think...thats where I learnt what I know today :)
Anyway I'm glad I've been of some help for you.

After going on the talkaudio forum ive been advised to wire in the amp as normal.
then take the speaker wires from the back of the HU to the amp and then route the wires from the amp (output) to the speakers. Sounds easy but will use a lot of wire.
Either that or i tap back into the original speaker wire loom to send the amp signal down. But the rewiring method will be best as it will help when i upgrade the speakers.
Would anybody benefit from a guide when i get round to doing it?
