Just after some advice really. Fitted my clarion stereo into 2003 ibiza TDI 130, when i 1st put it in had no power to it when key was out of ignition, so did some searching on here found that you sometimes needed to connect yellow wire to red. I've done that now and seem to have power to it when ignition is off cos it has flashing LED when key is out of ignition. But now seems that if car is left over night the stereo dumps all settings, radio stations etc.
So was just wondering whether anyone has advice or have encountered similar problems? Or due you reckon it could be fault with stereo?
BTW had stereo in a focus for past couple of years worked fine.
Any help would be appreciated
Swap the red and yellow over.
The headunit is live with the key in and turned to ACC not so the dash lights are lit.

Yeah when i originally put stereo in had wires yellow to yellow and red to red, but had no live to it when ignition was off with key removed. Then swapped wires so they were red to yellow, and i now seem to have a live to stereo with ignition off and key removed as stereo shutsdown properly when key is removed and LED flashes also. Thats what i find strange:confused:

You can't press it on like the standard stereo, when the keys are removed.

I, my main problem is the fact that the stereo seems to have power when the key is out but when i start the car and put the face on the stereo its dumped all the settings, radio stations etc.

it sounds like you had the wires right to start with. you can't turn aftermarket stereos on with the key removed.

Yeah i'm not trying to turn the stereo on with the key removed.
The problem is that when i leave the car overnight obviously with doors locked and key removed, the stereo is dumping all the settings and radio stations etc. as if there is no power getting to it, but i know for a fact that there is so is confusing!
The only reason it dumps it's setting is that you have the wires the wrong way round.

Alright i'll have a go swapping the wires over again. I'll post back with the outcome!

Tried swapping wires back to original ie. yellow-yellow. still got 'memory loss' problems.
I've now swapped wires back to yellow-red etc. But have now discovered if i get the engine started then fit the face to my stereo the settings stay and do not get 'dumped'. A bit of general crazyness but seems to do the job!!
Ah well cheers for the help
