I was reading an article posted on the forum regarding dump valves. Is it possible to replace the standard Cupra R dump valve with an atmospheric one while not upset the engine management system? If this is possible, which manufacturer(s) produce the best DV's for the model and any idea of prices?
Thanks:confused:
Nope, sorry
the most popular replacement is a Forge Recirculating. can't remeber which is most suitable for the Leon R though. apols

Just wanted to say Baileys have just finished developing a atmospheric dump valve for the Leon/Ibiza/golf/TT/ and don’t forget the Skoda with none of the usual problems, but also bare in-mind that you have a low pressure turbo so don’t be expecting a Scooby whoosh...... Good luck and if you do get one let us all know how she Blows:D ...
Nice!

Did anyone else get a spamming 'email' from Big Bones overnight as well then?
Cheers 'Eliot'
Obviously put loads of effort into that one.
I did not get one. I'm just not important enough anymore :P

So they told me when I called and asked
....get a Dynatwist induction kit, it makes whooshy noises and scares kids just like an atmos DV :D

Tried to email Bailey yesterday but it just bounced back.:(
Anybody know anymore about these Dv's???
I've got a Bailey recirculating dump valve on mine.
It makes a lovely sound (as Dor will confirm).
It could be helped by the fact that Seat seem to have accidently increased the boost pressure in my car though. ;)
Personally, even if atmospheric valves didn't bugger up the car I still wouldn't get one. I'd rather keep the extra power than lose some just so the car can make a whooshy noise.

So you would recommend getting a recirculative DV? I didn't know those type of DV's made a noise?!

They can do, especially when running higher boost (chipped) and an induction kit.
A subtle woosh, not an RS stylee woosh.

but i'm not really sure if I'd want to compromise the car's perfomance just for the sound?! The throttle response is better though?

Typically with a piston DV the action is quicker and the in between gear lag is less. Crisper response, but not more power.

Thanks mate. How often do you have to re-build them then?

You don't. They are fit and forget.
Don't even need servicing. :)

How come there is a Re-build/service charge for DV30 valve listed below it then???

Either they are conning people into service costs, or I was misinformed by Mike at Jabbasport.
If it does need servicing like the Forge one, chances are you would have sold your car by the time it needed doing anyway.

Hi, quick question for you guys, whats the diffrence between the Bialey dv and the Forge dv ? or is just down to personal choice ?
just curious cause when my car arrives ( when ? how longs a peice of string  ? ) a Dv is the first thing im putting in it
 BDB
you do need to service (by that i mean clean & lube) a DV
it gets full of scummy oily crap (technical term)
