Hi people!
Now that I've invested in the new stereo, my main priority is upping the security of the car, does anyone know who fits and supplies security glazing and at what cost, looking to have all the windows (except front) done. I know it's going to be costly, but hopefully it'll be worth it!

Don't know who fits it but I've seen vids on the Web about it. I think it might be a good idea for personal safety e.g. if you're in the car stopped at lights etc. For other types of attempted break in, it seems to me that although it makes it difficult to break the glass, whatever instrument is used makes marks on or cracks the window and so you would end up having to fit a new window and new film.

I wonder if by making it difficult to break the glass it might cause frustration and more damage in other ways? - A bit like making it as difficult as possible to remove a headunit can just end up with you having to contend with a broken window, a multilated headunit and a mutlilated dashboard?

Hmm.. not provided any solutions to your dilemma, sorry. Just not convinced that security film is as good as the adverts say it is.

Not the security film, I meant the actual windows

why not the front one ? surely ? especially if its for security ?

if they are after your stereo 9/10 they wont break into a rear window any more because of deadlocking systems nowadays just smash n grab the fronts

the film would be the easiest option if you remove the glass to fit it properly it will work as good as most as its thicker than window tint and will deter your average tools and toerags

next up is laminated glass which will need custom cutting and modifying the car slightly to suit or extreme triple laminate/bullet proof glass

just note none of which are indestructible like any security it is fallibile it's just a matter of time and how much longer it will take to bypass it

just dont drive home every night with it blasting away so people know where you are and what ya got really. or better still MAKE sure your insurance covers it and don't panic, is what i did with mine.
