Hi,

I have a Pioneer DEH-635R from 1998 which was actually a pretty good bit of kit at the time. It's been lying around for a while and I was wondering if it would be worthwhile replacing the Aura HU with it?

I know that it's quite old but will it operate the multichanger OK? Anyone any idea if it'll play CDRs (I'm not sire if I'll install it if it won't)? I know I'm clutching at straws a bit here but you never know, someone might have one!! :)

Cheers,

Deeko.

OK first off it won't controll the changer mate. As far as I know no-one has got an aftermarket HU to work with it, pioneer definately wont.

A Pioneer 6 disc changer would fit in the glovebox though I think.

Not sure on CDR's but most will play them if they are the silver type. I've been playing silver CDRs in car players for years and they've worked.

Thanks IceMan!

I might just keep the Aura unit for a while.

Is it a big deal to remove (not replace) the autochanger from the glove compartment? I read somewhere on here that you can get a sleeve or suchlike to fill the hole! I quite fancy getting a Blaupunkt in-dash autochanger like I had in my Peugeot but I fear it might be an ordeal to install it!

Cheers,

Deeko.
