Just coming up to my renewal with 6 years no claims bonus and 6 years of driving and went to see them rubbish comparison sites and was in for a right shock!
23 years old (almost)
6 years no claims
no accidents since I began driving
no court orders or CCJs nothing!
with Vehicle Tracking
I got quotes from £1670 - £3024. My current insurance was only £890 with the misses on it who had her license for 1 month at the time aged 21. Luckily I called up elephant who offered me £661 woohoo! included the misses as well.
For the prices ive quoted either the system is wrong or them isurers are crazy! id rather join the 1.4 million uninsured drivers and get the £100 slap on the wrist fine instead of paying that much!

I know, I don't condone non-insured driver but I can see why they do it. The punishment is a joke.
It must cost them more paying out for uninsured drivers than making the premiums sensible for most people.

Have you tried Greenlight - my insurance should go from around £900 (28, 6 years NCB) with Elephant to around £400 with Greenlight with all mods declared

well more like £800 so you can see why they do it now but as bonus they now package your car into a small suitcase for easy storage to keep with you as a memory

I've just had my re-newal through the door today and its gone down by £40 to £340.11.
Just gone 29 with 6 years NCB and one accident :D

yea I tried greenlight but they wont insure the misses as shes 21 and held her license for only 9 months maybe next year though :)

Because people started not to pay, the prices went up, so more people don't pay so the prices go up and again more people don't pay etc etc
