I'm a maybe at the moment - just need to see what the funds are looking like at the end of next week.
I have a couple of questions...
Does this include a diagnostics check before remap?
In the future if the turbo is upgraded or something - how much will a supplementary map be to someone who has already had their car mapped by you?
Are the maps removable?
Can the torque be limited on the stage 1 to protect the clutch?
Joel
Hi
It will be £245.00 all in with 5 members, or £225.00 all in with 10 members :)
just to confirm is this for all PD engines as mines the later one?

Hi Joel
Yes, all P-Torque maps include a diagnostics check before tuning.
Future custom maps depend on what mods you have. Usually a £50 discount applies.
Yes, the maps can be removed
All stage 1 software is developed around the stock clutch anyway :)

Hi
Once the 10 people are listed, I will require the £25.00 deposite, payable by Paypal or credit card over the phone.
In terms of booking, I will be booking the group in within the weeks of the list being complete. :)

Are you going to get pressured into a Stage 2 GB next year when I've had a chance to get a TIP, turbo-back exhaust and maybe a FMIC
bbewekim
03-10-2008, 15:25
I dont have FMIC :( but would a stage 2 be worth while with breather mods? (exhaust, air filter) Would that be the same price? You know you want to do a 250 all in including dyno runs :P
I'm in, will need to know dates as will have to take a days holiday.
Cupra Kev
03-10-2008, 15:30
I think Will's being more than generous with the price we're getting already :)
Different places recommend different things for Stage 2 - some places want a 4 bar FPR and FMIC, others just want DV, induction kit and turbo-back exhaust (for petrols - no idea about Derv's)
I'll be taking a days holiday, and I think Stroppy might throw a sickie that day as well :)

I'd like to get a dyno run for before and after too please
does it matter if i get a pannel filter and 160 intake before or after the remap?

Like your thinking but think we wont get away with that

Most Saturday's through Oct are good with me - as long as there's about a week's notice I can get time off in the week without any problems (though we do have a company meeting sometime in October so a date would be handy to keep the company meeting away from then)

Right - for me the dates in Oct that are out are Sat 11th, Thurs 16th and Thurs 30th ... any closer to getting a date or rough idea of when yet?
Let me know when it is then
sat 11th sounds good to me
Is it too late for me to be added to the list??? Can we get some performance stats for the remap???

06-10-2008, 14:25
later in the month is best for me. unless we pay our deposits and all travel down on different days? would possibly sit better as would be a busy day mapping 10 cars in a row?
im fairly easy on dates, woould def prefer a saturday though!
I'm interested. Is the PD160 Cupra Ibiza included in this?
What we looking at After remap? 200bhp/300ft? Really dont want more than 300ft of torque as it'll fry my clutch.

From the P-Torque website, looking at a 35bhp/80NM increase for the 1.9 TDi PD 160 - not sure what the standard torque is though
Cupra Kev
06-10-2008, 14:50
Don't think you'd get 10 done on the same day - if you've got RR runs before and after you're probably looking at 60-90mins per car I'd imagine so I doubt they'll do a 10-15 hour day ... most likely split it over 2 days?
Ok cool. So it'll be close to 200bhp. I'm not sure on the torque figure ether. I'll google later on.
Ultra_Joel88
06-10-2008, 17:03
It would be probably be easiest to split it into two days - perhaps one earlier in the month and one later in the month - the end of the month, perhaps even early november - would be easiest for me.
Thanks
Joel

07-10-2008, 13:19
Ok guys
I have now got more than enough members, so am going to have to cap the group buy now.
How do you guys want to do this? Would you prefer to come on seperate days, individually, or 2 groups of 6/7 over 2 days?
I can't do them all in 1 day due to the time it will take to properly carry out the mapping and checks.
Please also let me know who intends to have the dyno runs for £35.00, as this will also effect the time needed
Thanks!
Ultra_Joel88
07-10-2008, 13:24
Is anyone else coming from the South Wales/ Gloucester/ Herefordish/ Bristol area?
If so maybe we could go together on one day.
I would definitely prefer the end of October/ start of November, so I can get some funds together.
Thanks

Hi,
Am new to Cupra.net so bear with me but have been considering a remap for a while & P-Torque were recommended to me by a mate. If I sign up for this offer, when/how do I pay the £25 deposit & when would I be able to have the remap done? Could you also tell me whether I'd get a before & after diagnostics check so I have an idea of the resulting performance gains?
I own a 2001 Leon Cupra.

I would also like the dyno runs so if I'm correct that leaves a total of £235 to pay on the day.
I am more than happy to sort something out with bbewmike as he's a sound chap and has a nice car.
If anyone else is from the south wales or gloucester / bristol area they can come along as well.

Hope thats ok.

The price includes a diagnostics check before mapping.
You can pay the deposit via Paypal to info@p-torque.co.uk stating your username in the subject, or you can call 01902 324584 and pay by card. This is required before the end of the week please.
Diagnostics will not give you power output, for this you require before/after dyno runs at £35.00.

Hi there glad to have my car booked in however I am a little worried about the clutch I've read a fair bit on here and although it seems only a few 130 owners with a p torque remap have had problems it still does exist.
My car has done 40,000 miles, I have owned it for 15,000 of that and have always been careful not to floor the throttle below 2,000rpm.
Is there anyway to tell the health of the clutch on the dyno before remapping the car?
Just looking for a bit of assurance as I really cannot afford to pay for a new clutch within the next year or so - how do you limit the torque, do you have a pre-written map which limits it?
Thanks
Joel

Hello Joel
I can test you clutch on the day to see how it performs with the software.
If its healthy, then you won't have an issue, as I limit the stage 1 software to 290lbs/ft torque, and clutch is rated at 300lb/ft.
I can adjust the software on the day to reduce torque, but mapping around a wearing part is not really the right way round ;)

Yeah, you do have a point.
I think its just me being a bit over cautious. I had a digital tuning box on the car for a little while, only around 3k, and the torque curve on those is supposed to be spikey to say the least, and I never had any clutch slip with that on.
I removed it in the end as I didnt like its power delivery.
We'll see on day, cheers Will.

Rang up a few times, spoke to you once but you were out of the office. I am still up for the map if my clutch etc holds out, and will be paying the deposit just finding the time in the day.
Hitting the 95k mark now, so will be interested to see dyno figures and how long my car lasts with stage 1 map.
Im gutted! but im going to have to give this a miss for the time being! Was told today that we may only have a couple more weeks work and things are not looking good. So it's cut back time what with christmas round the corner too....remap will just have to wait for another time.

Hi
You can send it via Paypal to info@p-torque.co.uk :)
im really tempted to get this done, ive always thought about it. I have a FR TDI 130, my own concern is the clutch like a few others, but ive read the posts and comments about keeping it under 300lbs of torque etc which seems fine, still weary mind. I wont need to change anything will i if i wanted a phase 1 map? will engine be fine and stuff? also i keep seeing clutch slip comments but what actually is it in terms of when im driving?
Is there any spaces left? or can a deposit be paid to hold price?

You don't need to change anything for the phase 1 map, providing everything is in good condition

I know what you mean. Google maps says its 2hrs for my journey, but I dont think it is so I'm going an extra half an hour earlier.
Really cant wait for this now!!
Is anybody organising a meet up? or is everyone coming seperately?
Is anyone staying behind after they've had their car sorted? My girlfriend is coming too so not sure how long I can make her wait around.

i might float about for a bit depending how long it takes as i got nearly a 2 hour drive home:cry:, altho that should give the map plenty of time to settle with the car
Cool probably see you there. Should think i'll arrive as yours is being finished off.

Hi P Torque.
Another question.
I MAY, MAY have an EGR bypass fitted when I come for the remap, if I do, are you able to map the CEL light out?
ALSO
Is the rev limiter raised in the remap? If so to what RPM?
Joel
Doubt the limiter will be raised. Only seen that on maps that complement new higher lift cams.

Hello Joel
No, stage 1 software is not adjusted for mods.
The rev limiter is not raised, and never needs to be on the 1.9PD unless heavy modification has been carried out
I know you said no more, but is there room for a 2.0ltr tfsi stage 1 map for me? I know it's gonna be slightly more for the tfsi thats k. Would like a before and after run too!

I'm assuming from the bhp/torque that's got to be a diesel!

How are the 130 owners finding the remap, mines on the 7th. How does it pull now higher up the rev range?
Jonezyfr
29-10-2008, 12:31
mines a 150 but i find its wy better up the rev range, wider torque spread and drives slightly more like a petrol car would,
How are the 130 owners finding the remap, mines on the 7th. How does it pull now higher up the rev range?
mines a 130 and it made 181bhp and 282ish lbft (only other mod is a pannel filter) and it pulls all the way through the rev range to the limiter, feels a lot smoother and more free reving
heres my full review http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=193119
after reading more and ppl saying it effectivley makes the FR a cupra, so if this is so then would the cupra not be more at risk of clutch slip with standard clutch as it will remap to more bhp and torque then the fr?
can the torque be limited in a remap or is it only custom remaps where u can do this? my only issue thats stopping me is clutch failing :(
My Cupra Made 174BHP pre remap. It made 199.7BHP after. Will could have added more mid range torque and given me a higher figure than 267 (think thats what it was) but I didn't want the extra smoke or risk of clutch slip.
As it is my car has nearly 50k miles and will require an uprated clutch soon.
I expect you'll have got more torque than that?? My FR is running 280lbft! Power is definately up on mine tho :)
Dont think I do. Not too bothered though. Can get a harsher map when I get the new clutch. This one one wont last long as it is. Will could have added more fuel lower down but it causes a lot of black smoke on the pd160's.
Black smoke looks awesome, do it :P
Uprated clutch makes the drive of the car soooo much more positive, well worth doing!
Yeah I have to drive around the clutch now but its well worth it. I'll get it sorted in the new year along with my cambelt. Can imagine it'll be quicker because it will bite at 2000-2500 rather than trying to slip.
I must stress that this is the age of the clutch and the way it was treated by the previous owner rather than the remap's fault.
Aye, guessed so after reading your milage.
It'll be muchos better afterward... Can't believe how much better they feel with a new clutch in :)

Is it advisable to tell your insurance company if you decide to have a performance clutch replacement??
Would this increase your premium???

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to Will for my remap yesterday. Leon Cupra running 187BHP, 180lbsft torque before and 215BHP, 230lbsft torque after. Similar sentiment to a previous comment about the wet weather limiting a proper run since but I'm very happy with the results.
As an additional comment to anyone thinking about a remap, even at full price it's way worth the money & Will a totally trustworthy guy. Identified a minor pre-existing fault with my N75 solenoid which I'll be getting replaced soon, sorted!!!
Many thanks Will.
what kinf of gains could i expect for a 210bhp lcr? thanks
