Sunroof

The sunroof the other day, I went to open it and it would only open tilt and when you try to open it the other way it just jams it will move about half an inch. Ive tried everything including grease and wd40 I got it to open once and then it wouldnt do it again, Im scared if I try too hard its gonna break... Any ideas

Sounds like a bolt or screw has come loose and is jammed in the mechanism somewhere. That would be my guess.

Well my Mum had a similar problem with an electric sunroof on an old merc some years back.

It was a case of wiggling back and forth until it opened enough to see where the bolt was loose (ooer). And then tighten that sucker up.

A bit of bouncing in the car might help.

If a bolt comes loose it can cause the runner to be a a funny angle.

Have you tried pressing/ jiggling the sunroof from underneath whilst trying to open it in case that moves the runner a bit?

Not much help but that's basically what I did to sort out.
