probobly an easy one - black engine cover effort for 1.4 beezer on a p. also need a part which im not gunna be able to describe very well. Right, from where the air filter is, a pipe comes out to the left hand side and leads down by the front wing. Its this pipe that i need aswell. If it helps its only clipped in ??

Price availability and part numbers would be brilliant !!!!

thank you

Minty Man,

I need EXACTLY the same parts. When I bought the car 2nd hand, it didn't have those pieces. But when I bough the Haynes Manual, THERE THEY ARE !!

I reckon that black Engine Cover thing stops the little Polo Engine looking so Puny..

If you get any info you requested (Prices, part numbers etc) please let me know..

Cheers

Kurt

Cheers,

But mine IS the Facelifted model (1 Piece Bumpers etc. It's a late '97):(

I've been Jipped !! :P

Does anyone actually know what the Pipe to side of the Air Filter is for..? Obviously, there's no Point in me buying the Bits, only to not use them when I fit an Induction kit..
Also, has anyone got any experience with Induction kits for the 1.4 (AEX Engine Code)..?

Cheers

Kurt

Ive got the K&N 57i induction kit for a 1.4 Polo on my car (also engine code AEX)

Mates a nice sound and lets the car breathe a bit easier... just make sure that you get a good cold air feed as the filter sits straight on topof the throttle inlet; so without it it will just suck in hot air.

I think there is a jetex kit available which has a shiny metal adapter plate but it is quite a bit more expensive.

//\\//\\ark

P.S. My car is also a 97 and doesnt have the engine cover either... but im making one from carbon fibre as soon as i can be bothered (had it sitting for about 3 mnths now)

i had a green induction kit, cost about 80 quid but sounded brilliant!! if you blipped the throttle it sounds a quick tish!!! hehehe hours of fun..

that pipe go to the back of the air box and the exhaust manifold? if so its no good to man nor beast,it's a warm air pipe that some numty decide would be a good idea you don't need one:confused:

here mate, the reason you are probably missing all this gear, is because it all has to come off to fit an inductinkit!!, so the last owner probably had one fitted, then took it out b4 selling, the pipe only helps warm the engine when cold, after that it is sorta useless!!, you could try getting either an induction kit or else go to a scrappy and have a punt round for one!!
