View Full Version : Anyone got a Single CD OE headunit they don't want?

Just picked up my Leon Cupra on Sat, to my dismay the head unit is a cassette version. I certain wasn't expecting this.
I have no cassettes and personally can't stand them.

The reason I ask is that a friend has an import MY03 Cupra that has a single cd version of the same headunit, so I thought that I'd get the same when the car arrived, this is obviously not the case!
Obviously our changers in the glove box are identical.

So has anyone got one of these OE single cd headunits that they might want to sell me for a reasonable amount of money? It would obviously need to look pristene and be in full working order.

TIA

I think i've still got mine, in a box in the garage somewhere, pulled it out in the first week of owning so should still be in A1 condition.

Make me an offer I can't refuse;)

DU02 You got a PM!

Mr Apprentice... simple, additional CD choice and removale of sh*te looking cassette deck... looks much better with a cd unit in place.. as I said a friend has an import like this so I know what it looks like!

Exactly couldn't agree more.. so why did you post on this thread in the first place??... ( I don't understand these sort of unhelpful replies on forums)

NO OFFENCE INTENDED BY MY REPLY...

I've had my car just over a year and still I haven't use the tape deck ! :D

I do however agree with Seat Apprentice, I can't see the point on changing the HU when it works fine, each to his own I guess......

DU02 - Thanks but I've changed my mind... I've decided to leave the standard system for the time being.
I'll be looking to upgrade everything eventually.. new HU, Changer add amps and suitable speakers.

All those that were bothered by my original request can now rest easy...:p

Thanks folks.

Well....I'll still be looking around.

Just a quick check, how do you remove the Aura Cassette HU from the centre console ? I've tried the "credit card" method but it doesn't work.

My problem is that the HU doesn't sit flush with the centre panel, there's about 1/4 inch protruding out....wanted to take it out and refit again.

Any way to get the extractor ?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance Mate
