ive a couple of pics . the seat version of the k03 comes with two outlets from the wastegate. one goes to the wastegate. the second i dont know what it does or the two things it goes to. the first pic is of the hose itself, youll see the end blocked with a screw. the hose goes to a "T" , one end going to the second picture, the other to the third. what are these two objects?http://www.vage.ie/~public/DSCN0074.jpg

the first "mystery" item is the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve. basically the engine "recirculates" exhaust gas back round into the inlet under part load (off boost) conditions to improve fuel econonmy. (5v head has an internal EGR port, hence control valve is bolted directly to head.

I think the second item is the egr valve control solenoid, basically a pulse width modulated (by ECU) needle valve that controls the amount of vacuum (from inlet plenum) is applied to the diaphram in the EGR valve itself. hence this controls the ERG gas flow.

Both these items use a vaccum signal from the plenum to operate, but the second item could also be the dump valve control soleniod, which controls how the dump valve operates by the ECU (typically prevents it opening under idle conditions)

all the VW/ AUDI Pierburg vacuum solenoids look similar externally, but vary internally depemding on what they control, ie dump valve solenoid just has an on / off position, Wastegate solenoid (N75) has a duty cycle controlled position, between 10 and 90% approximately

hope this helps!

so in short, the engine will run as normal without this connected to the wastegate?

which end was connected to the wastegate? was it the end of the hose blanked with the screw?

and when you say wastegate, do you mean the actual "can" of the wastegate actuator that is mounted on the turbo charger?

if you can run it as Std it will run better, a non operative egr valve will flag up a MIL light on the dash as it is a "emissions" critical system unless the ecu is modified to disable the OBD functionality

the two items are still attached to each other, it was a t running off to the can of the wastegate.
