Following extensive endurance testing (In excess of 20,000 miles covered by our customer) the Skoda Octavia 2.0 TFSI with the JKM Advanced K04 conversion was back in Portsmouth on Saturday 18th October for a power run.

The Octavia features our Advanced K04 conversion, as detailed here (http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/jkmtfsi-K04-upgrade.htm) also fitted is our highly advised big brake upgrade as detailed here (http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsibrakes.htm)

The dyno graph can be seen below… The K04 conversion is absolutely superb – not only was peak BHP and Torque measured to have increased to 309BHP* & 312Lb/Ft* – but more importantly Torque is kept above 250Lb/Ft from 2750rpm through to 6400rpm!
This makes for effortless acceleration in any gear – combined with silky smooth power delivery and even the TFSI engines economy is kept impressive when driven sensibly (as reported by our customer).
This has got to be the best all round street use turbo for the 2.0 TFSI engine - utilising many OEM parts and high quality aftermarket parts, we have proven this combination over 20,000 miles with just 1 OEM Diverter valve failure ! :) - Which was an early 'C' revision BTW

If you have been modifying your car in stages then we would advise that you look at the Basic K04 upgrade as listed at the top of the page here: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/jkmtfsi-K04-upgrade.htm

Price reductions are made for returning REVO customers and for example if you are on Revo stage 2 hardware/software the conversion can be done for £3354.93 Including Vat BUT you must already have the suitable supporting hardware – such as full turbo back exhaust and high flow intake etc, to make the most of this conversion.

*Results where recorded with the vehicle running on Shell V Power fuel – full details can be found on our website at www.jkm.org.uk

Any questions please let us know and we will do our best to get back to you asap.

Kind Regards

Nice curves !

Not far off IHI power and much better low down torque than mine, bet this is good to drive on the road.

I think I've spotted the way forward when the time comes to replace my cupra R :)

BTW I noticed on your recent RR day that the ED30 Golfs with Revo stg1 were all making around 270 something BHP, but a Revo'd Leon Cupra is about 300, is there a good reason for this? - apologies if it's an easy question, I'm not up to speed on the TFSi engines.

Stew.....if u're referring to the RR day on 4th Oct there weren't any Revo'd ED30's there. :) It was just Bluefin and Richter mapped ones. And the dodgy Bluefin one had to have its whole map redone at SC on the monday!

ooops my bad

So is Bluefin a conservative map as it's not tweakable or does the ED30 have mechanical restrictions compared to the Leon Cupra such as intercoolers etc?

I'm also curious about the stg2 guy who didn't want his results published - not as good as expected I'm guessing

the bluefin maps do seem to be less than others, but then different dynos say different things!

No mechanical restrictions, the engines are identical! The ECU maps come out of the factory slightly different to create a 10ps difference.

The stg2 guy has spent plenty of money on his car (200ps GTI tho) , and was miffed to only see 236bhp and 250lb/ft. He went to REVO HQ soon after for a diagnosis. BUT....it went ok on way home. So who knows. Standard cars did standard numbers.

Just one of those things!

Hi Stew,

I hope you are well and that the car is going well.
If you are looking into a possible future replacement for your 1.8T Cupra – then any car with a 2.0 TFSI engine would be a great choice, we are working on these cars on a daily basis now and they take to tuning really well.
As you may know there are lots of differences between the New Leon Cupra (240PS) / Golf Edition 30 (230PS) / Audi S3 (260PS) engines compared with the 200PS Leon FR / Golf GTI / Octavia etc… much more than I am sure you want me to go into here.

There where no Edition 30 Golfs running REVO stage 1 at the recent rolling road day, however when we run REVO stage 1 K04 turbo equipped TFSI cars on our Dyno we usually see about 270 – 280 hp and usually about 300 Lb/ft. All remapped TFSI engines drive absolutely fantastic – they really take so well to tuning.
The Cupra that you are referring to presumably at the link below actually has more than just a REVO stage 1 map, it also has a high flow intake system from Forge and a high flow fuel pump assembly.
http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/Misc/Misc_Performance_pictures/TFSI-images/JKM%20K04%20Power/K04TOM.gif

The stock mechanical fuel pump on the engine is not really up to the job of maintaining 300lb/ft for long periods of time – the fuel pressure drops away and the load drops away with it – hence lower boost and lower power!
The combination of a decent intake system (key on a TFSI engine) with a good mechanical fuel pump allows more to be extracted from this engine without problems of fuel cuts etc.

The Superchips map is less aggressive than REVO, they typically request a lower level of boost and hence the torque is around held around 250/260 Ft/lb.
The map provided by Superchips for the ED30 customers Bluefin was wrong in some way, I’m not sure of the exact details as Bluefin support is done directly between the customer and Superchips HQ.

The stage REVO 2 Golf that held his results back apparantley had an issue with a component on his car, but he is back in soon for another run so we will find out then.
We have seen some excellent results still on Revo stage 1 (with the right modifications) – look at the Skoda Octavia on the GolfGTI.co.uk rolling road results page on our website.
Hope this helps.

good results guys,is there any chance of seeing the power at the wheels graph?

very nice, good curve looks very smooth.
Can i ask what gear the power run was done in?Is it a 6 speeder?

JKM

6 speed yes, run done in 4th gear.
The car drives superb the owner does 1000 miles per week in his job, and he is over the moon with the conversion :-)

so do you normally run the 6 speeders in 4th and the 5 speeders in 3rd?

JKM

Normally for Front wheel drive cars this is how we do it, there are a few exceptions however.

If we havent seen a specific make/model of car before we do look for what gear makes best power - sometimes it is 4th on a 5 speed car.
