Any SCN members fancy coming?

A friend and professional detailer has just fitted out a unit for himself and we are running a detailing meet/open day there on the 29th November, start time 10am. Location is near Redruth in Cornwall. There will be broad range of people there from newbies to pros.

Products and Demos
Some of the things taking place:
Plenty of advice from pro detailers and enthusiats.
Product demos and the chance to try various products out yourself.
Machine polishing demos and opportunity to try yourself, we will have several different machines.
Wheel repair demo.
Products for sale, all items from my site will be there which includes my own brand products as well as products from Dodo Juice, Bilt Hamber, Mark V, Show Car Detailing.
Valet PRO will also be in attendance with some products to try and buy.

Competition for charity.
As a bit of fun and an excuse to raise some money for charity we will be having a "Burn Through" competition. The person to burn through the paint, down to bare metal, on a scrap panel in the quickest and most entertaining way will win this. Equipment will be provided.

Seeing as its only up the road from me, i think i'll come along... Would be good to get some tips and maybe some new products etc etc and just meet others...

I am also wanting my car to have a full valet and detail, so hopefully will be able to get some more info on the services your friend can offer and prices etc.

Jamie.

Cool, Helston isn't far at all. You'll be able to see all the services that Dave offers and if you have a word with him I'm sure he'll give you a price to do the car.

That's a shame. Bristol is about 100 miles from me and the meet location is about 70 miles further. But it is an easy drive :D, it would be M5 down to Exeter and then A30 all the rest of the way.

Sounds like a great day.

Just a shame it's so far away.

For those of you who are fortunate enough to live near this event should take full advantage of it. The advice you can pick up alone is invaluable not to mention the products that will likely be on offer.

Lee.

Okay, only a few days away chaps. Can I have a show of hands please, to see who's coming so that we can make sure there will be enough grub and sample packs. :)

Okay a few pics from the day, just to show what kind of things went on.

My car boot stall all setup. :)

We had an Astra VXR to start with. It's a regular car that Dave @ Authoshine gets to work on and it was due a Zaino top up.

Next one and the one that was here so that everyone could have ago with a polisher of some sort. Alfa Romeo 147, it had a few swirls and body shop induced buffer trails to get out.

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd107/Rubbish_Boy/meet_20081129/20081129016.jpg

I think just about everyone did have a go at polishing. We had just about every polisher there, Kestrel, Makita, Flex, etc. And loads of different polishes on the go.

It got waxed with a coat of Original Edition, applied by the owner who got stuck in too. He hadn't detailed before, I gave him the pot of OE and an applicator gave him some very brief instructions, scuff the wax, applicator in, give it twist, do a panel, nice and thin. And he did a marvelous job.

And we also had a VW Golf that need a quick freshen up. Mark V Glisten mixed (80%) with a drop of Mark V IP200 (20%) buffed with the rotary using an RB soft finishing pad. It then got topped with Supernatural V1.

It was a good day, I think everyone enjoyed themselves and it was a great location for a meet.
