R reg silver cordy coupe, 70K, 1.6SX, a/c, sun roof, original alloys, e/w, c/l, abs, p/s long mot + tax, new cambelt, clutch and tyres, "like new", 2 owners...

...£2195 asking price.

Plus side: well looked after, should get price down to 2K level, un-modded so no badboy mods, only 1.6 but new engine will be fitted anyway.
Downside: could be so nice I don't wanna strip it out!, sunroof - i don't need one :p ,perhaps a bit expensive considering I'm gonna m0rk it..?

Any thoughts..?

dont mork it, just either vr6,20vt or 2,0 it and tune it beyond recognition. real track muncher and street sleeper!!!

I'm gonna be radical anyway and put a TDI unit in it, do something different!

Why not m0rk it? I know it's a lovelly car, and it would be a shame, but as a performance car for the track and minimal road usage I won't need rear seats/air con etc.. I have my Ibiza (and whatever i replace that with).

By reducing the weight, and using a tdi tuned to ~190BHP, all that torque would bed down better as there would be less weight, so less loss of traction on acceleration, with the weight being centred over the front driving wheels.

Correct me if I'm mad..!
