Hi everybody,
First of all I wanna say that I know nothing about engines, so that is why I will ask you people alot of questions :)

* Is it possible to add a few more hp´s in my ibiza 1.6 100hp? (the only modification I have this far is an exaust system)

* How would I easiest accomplish this ? (by airfilters and chip?)

* What airfilter would you all recommend? I´ve been thinking of direct air kits.. But there is one problem i think!? You must have cold air, right ?

* Adding a chip or turbo parts ? (what kind of parts is neccesary)

Many thanks in advance!
Regards / Rikard

ps. oh, please use "easy to understand" english... I´m from sweden, and my english is bad! ds.

pardon me but my swedish is even worse,
hej,
hur mår du?,
jag får a cordoba 2.0 16 klaff.
, anyroad, enough showing off!!
getting a chip should be the last thing you do, any modifications carried out after chipping will not use their full potential.
basically ,
an induction kit (does not necessarily require colder air)
a more agressive camshaft set, would give more mid and high rev power,
sports manifold will free up some power, and noise!
gas flowed head, should be done along with cam upgrade to achieve the best possible raise in bhp
and finally a chip,
if anyone can think of anything else jot it up here:cheers:

Thanks!

What is a sports manifold anyway, and where can I get these parts?
Do you know the difference of the 2.0 16v (150hp) engine on
cupras and the model I have - 1.6 8v (100hp) ?
Can it be possible to buy these parts you mentioned from the cupra model, and just plug it into my engine? Or is it a completely different engine ?

So what I need is:

Induction kit
camshaft + gas flowed head
sports manifold
chip

How many bhp could these things give me ?

Again, many thanks,,, / Rikard

ok, sports manifolds can come in a different assortment of makes and models, but all hope to have the same outcome, more bhp, they are usually better balanced and i think they can transfer the exhausted gases faster from the engine.
the 1.6 engine has a capacity of 1595(cc) and uses a single camshaft, where the 2.0 has 1984cc and two camshafts, this makes the two engines completely different, parts are very rarely interchangeable because of these differences, though take heart in the fact that it will be cheaper to tune an 8v engine as you would only need 1 cam kit, whereas the 16v requires two.
To see the differences in the engines a little better,
http://www.seatcupra.net/ibizaspec.shtm this link will show you the stats for the range of ibizas, simply use the stats that are for the 1.6 engine
http://www.seatcupra.net/cordoba.shtm , this will help you understand the differences as the cordoba 2.0 16v engine is the same engine as the ibiza , as it isnt listed under ibiza stats any more i thought i would give this link!
the other parts like the induction kit arnt essential, they will just help give the car a little more power, and a far nicer roarrr!!
